After seeing the LEGO Star Wars 2014 Advent Calendar at the New York Toy Fair 2014, I came back and raved about the set–and then pined away that it would be at least six months before I could own it. Fast-forward six months plus to today, and my melodrama is finally able to come to an end! During the rare occasion when my wife actually wanted to go to the mall (she hates malls), I saw a kid walking around with the telltale yellow LEGO Store bag–stuffed with what looked like new Advent Calendars! LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2014 75056 Released in Stores

Last year’s LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar was the most successful, fastest-selling Star Wars LEGO Advent Calendar ever, so LEGO was going to have to really up the ante in 2014 to top it. In my opinion, they have definitely done that with the just-released 75056 LEGO Star Wars 2014 Advent Calendar!

I talked about the Advent Calendar at length back in February after I attended the 2014 International Toy Fair, and I hate to repeat myself (too much), but let me just say: I like this LEGO Holiday 2014 Advent Calendar every bit today as much as I did when I first saw it in February.

2014 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar Box BackFrom the LEGO Santa Darth Vader minifigure to the LEGO Astromech Droid Christmas Tree minifigure to the Christmas-wrapped LEGO lightsaber, this year’s LEGO 2014 Star Wars Advent Calendar 75056 is full of win. Other details I particularly love are Darth Vader’s lightsaber next to the fireplace and the LEGO Santa hat-wearing Stormtrooper minifigure.

Bless her heart, my wife really does not understand my Christmas obsession (or my LEGO obsession, for that matter). But what she does understand is that last year’s LEGO Star Wars 2013 Advent Calendar sold out over a month before Christmas and was selling for nearly double on the aftermarket, so she had only sparing complaints about me snapping up the LEGO 75056 Star Wars Advent Calendar 2014 today (while it’s a totally fair $39.99).

I think this year’s Star Wars LEGO Advent Calendar is the best one yet, so bear in mind that this set is likely going to be sold out in most stores long before Thanksgiving 2014.

  1. …Must wait till September..Must wait till September for classic space white minifig… I will get the Star wars Advent. I may get the City advent as well.

  2. I would expect them to sell out or mostly sell out before Advent begins (even though these calendars always start on December 1st – Advent this year begins on Nov 30th).

  4. We will definitely be getting one of these. Star Wars lego started in our house with last years Jango Fett set and it got my 4 y.o (now 5) hooked on Legos and we have all the micro fighters and an a-wing now.

    We will be opening each day during Dec and I am probably looking forward to it more than my son (we also have a republic gunship stashed away for the main present).

    One thing I would like to see as a Dad with 2 daughters who like playing with their brothers lego is a girl character in one of the Star Wars advent sets. I mean Padme as Mrs Claus was a totally missed opportunity this year.

    it is veyr hard for me to get the willpower to not open it all now before it is even december yet
