Up until July 2014, all LEGO fans had to accept the supposed fact that there would be now more The LEGO Movie sets after the Summer 2014 LEGO Movie sets wave hit stores. And then a funny thing happened–LEGO debuted a handful of LEGO 2015 sets at San Diego Comic-Con 2014… and one of them was from The LEGO Movie! And while it’s certainly not big or elaborate, plenty of fans are excited for the arrival of Winter 2015 LEGO Movie Batman & Super Angry Kitty Attack 70817 set!

Although Batman turned out to be a central (and popular!) character in The LEGO Movie, up until now he’s only appeared in one set–the very cool (but very expensive) LEGO Movie Super-Secret Police Dropship set.

But while basically everyone wants their own official LEGO Movie Batman minifigure, not everybody is willing to plunk down ~$75-$80 for that set (although it is a very fun set and well worth the money). Luckily, LEGO is coming to the rescue in January 2015 with a $13 set including another official LEGO Movie Batman figure!

And not only are we getting another Batman LEGO Movie figure as part of the 70817 LEGO Movie Batman & Super Angry Kitty Attack set, but he’s our first official smiling LEGO Movie Batman minifigure! Prefer your Batman dark and angry? You’re in luck–the reversible Batman head print is fierce and ready for battle!

Of course, Batman is only half the allure of this set, as the other main draw character also has their name in the set’s title: the first Super Angry Kitty minifigure! While we got a regular LEGO Angry Kitty figure as part of another outrageously fun set–the LEGO Movie Emmet’s Construct-O-Mech 70814–this is the first time we’ve seen Angry Kitty in “Super” mode with the even more crazed facial expression! I’ve already got the original Angry Kitty, but this LEGO Super Angry Kitty figure is also a must-have!

Rounding out the set are another LEGO Skeletron minifigure and another LEGO Micro Manager with moving claw arms. We’ve had both of these before, but we can always use more members for the evil Lord Business’ army!

The LEGO Movie 70817 Batman and Super Angry Kitty Attack set is part of the Winter 2015 LEGO Movie sets wave, and is expected to be released in stores in January 2015.
