LEGO Ninjago Summer 2015 Sets Photos from Toy Fair 2015!

We’re just two and a half weeks from the biggest toy event of 2015: the International Toy Fair 2015 in New York City! But while the New York Toy Fair may be this year’s biggest toy show, Europe is already getting its own fair share of toy events to kick off the new year. While the 2015 Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany won’t officially begin until tomorrow, some photos from the event are already beginning to circulate online: including several of the LEGO Ninjago 2015 sets, such as the all-new Morro Dragon and revisited Destiny’s Bounty sets!

Seeing as how the LEGO Ninjago Winter 2015 sets have yet to release anywhere in the world, I wasn’t entirely certain that LEGO was going to be bringing the summer Ninjago sets with them to show off just yet at the winter toy fair events. But I heard reports from last week’s London Toy Fair that the Ninjago sets were in fact on the show floor, and now the Atamaii Instragram has brought us our first images of the summer 2015 Ninjago sets from the Nuremberg Toy Fair show floor!

The LEGO Attack of the Morro Dragon 70736 set is my favorite of the first sets previewed at the event. The contrast of colors on this Asian-style dragon is striking, and I’m really wondering if this dragon may have some sort of glow-in-the-dark features, looking at the whitish-green plastic on part of the dragon which is typically used on toys that glow.

The Ninjago Destiny’s Bounty flying airship is back, baby! We haven’t seen the LEGO Ninjago Destiny’s Bounty in stores since the set was originally released in 2011, but the first photo of the new-and-improved version of the Destiny’s Bounty looks all-around superior to its predecessor. I skipped the original LEGO Destiny’s Bounty set, so I’m psyched for a chance to pick up the 70738 LEGO Final Flight of Destiny’s Bounty set for a fair price.

But, hey–“Final Flight”? That sure sounds ominous, doesn’t it?

Nuremberg Toy Fair 2015 LEGO Ninjago Set PhotosThe last of the three LEGO Ninjago 2015 set photos from the display at the 2015 Nuremberg Toy Fair event is 70735 Ronin REX. This is a very interesting-looking flying vehicle, but not necessarily one that I feel like I can’t live without (although I may change my mind once I see this in the Ninjago cartoon).

I’ll post more photos from the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2015 as they become available, and you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have news and images beamed right to your Facebook Newsfeed.

What do you think of these first three LEGO Ninjago Summer 2015 sets to be revealed? Does the Morro Dragon or the redone Destiny’s Bounty ship get your ninja-loving blood flowing, or are you bored with LEGO’s new air-themed Ninjago offerings?

  1. The dragon looks so much better than it did in the Prelims, and so does Destiny’s Bounty (the original was released in 2012, btw 😉 )

As for Ronin REX, I like the front (a lot), but the back end seems to be built to support an Airjitsu spinner, which are fine on their own, but I’m not sure how the back will look without the spinner…
