I really thought that the last couple weeks of the years would be quiet for LEGO news and I wouldn’t be missing anything taking a vacation, but it’s just not to be! So I’m skipping my FastPass appointment for Snow White’s Mine Cart at Magic Kingdom to talk about the latest LEGO Marvel 2015 minifigure to be revealed: the Winter Soldier!

LEGO collectors worldwide were unanimously astonished when the LEGO Marvel 2014 sets were announced and there was no LEGO Winter Soldier minifigure to be found. Seriously, no Winter Soldier LEGO figure in the year of the Captain America: The Winter Soldier movie? Really…!?

It was a pretty bizarre move on LEGO’s part to skip over the title character of one of the biggest movies of 2015, but it seems they’ve realized their mistake and are ready to rectify it this winter!

Earlier this week, rumors began spreading of a LEGO Winter Soldier polybag minifigure being in the pipeline. And now, that figure has been confirmed by tkkim, who has leaked photos of the LEGO Winter Soldier figure (and his reversible head)!

One side of Winter Soldier’s head features him with his eye mask on (like the comics), while the other side has Winter Soldier with his freaky Hannibal Lecter reminiscent face mask over his mouth.

The character isn’t entirely accurate to his appearances in the cartoons, comic books or movies, but is actually a sort of amalgam from all the different versions of The Winter Soldier.

LEGO Winter Soldier features printing on his arm to create his awesome bionic left arm (with red star!). We don’t see arm printing nearly enough on LEGO minifigures, so that detail makes up for the Winter Soldier’s lack of including any weapons whatsoever.

Seeing as how the figure and its packaging have obviously already been produced, we can reasonably assume that the LEGO The Winter Soldier minifigure polybag will be released in the next few months (and I would wager on winter 2015 almost without a doubt).
