The LEGO Movie Sets Revealed & Photos! Wacky Winter LEGO 2014 Sets!

When I saw the LEGO Movie Metalbeard’s Duel set for the first time earlier today, I knew that the 2014 LEGO Movie sets had taken a decided turn for the weird. But little did I know just how wacky and crazy the remaining The LEGO Movie sets were going to be! The folks at LEGO sure have been busy today, as they posted the first photos of an additional nine LEGO Movie sets–and trust me, those just may be the most insane LEGO sets ever!

Winter 2014 The LEGO Movie LEGO City Plane Set with PlungersHave you ever dreamed of owning a LEGO Ice Cream Truck that can transform into a flying fighter jet…? If so, the 2014 LEGO Movie sets were probably designed with specifically you in mind! The LEGO Movie Ice Cream Machine 70804 is the set I’m speaking of specifically, and it’s just one of many over-the-top LEGO Movie sets coming our way next year.

2014 LEGO Movie Ice Cream Machine 70804 SetThe sides of the LEGO 70804 Ice Cream Machine flip up to become wings, the LEGO Ice Cream Vendor minifigures double as a pilot and a gunner, and even the soft-serve ice cream on top of the Ice Cream Truck rotates and transforms into some sort of Death Star-esque laser blaster! And as hard as it may be to believe, the LEGO Movie Winter 2014 sets are full of ideas just as nutty as this one.

The LEGO Movie 70805 Trash Chomper Winter 2014 SetHow about a LEGO Recycling Truck that transforms into an almost dinosaur-like flying, chomping monster? Yes, believe it or not, that’s real too–it’s the LEGO Movie Trash Chomper 70805 set.

LEGO Movie Castle Cavalry 70806 SetThe LEGO 70806 LEGO Movie Castle Cavalry set is perhaps even more wacky, as it looks like a couple of LEGO Castle pillars structures transform into a podracer type vehicle and fly around, captained by LEGO Knight minifigures. Yes, this is truly the stuff of LEGO dreams (or nightmares, depending upon your point of view on ideas such as these).

LEGO Movie Getaway Glider 70800 SetThe LEGO Getaway Glider 70800 looks to be the smallest and cheapest of the sets we’ve seen thus far in the LEGO Movie wave of sets, and will make a good army-builder collection with the Robo Sheriff and Deputy included. And hey–I really like that cactus!

2014 LEGO Movie Wild West Plane SetI’m really not sure exactly what’s going on in this particular set, but it appears that perhaps the exterior of a LEGO Wild West Saloon has transformed into an airplane? Wow, there’s a phrase I never thought I’d say: “it appears that perhaps the exterior of a LEGO Wild West Saloon has transformed into an airplane.”

LEGO Movie Melting Room 70801 SetThe LEGO 70801 Melting Room LEGO Movie set looks to be a very scene-specific set from the movie, wherein it looks like Lord Business is using a heat ray to try to melt Emmett’s back? Interesting, but with all the lunacy of the other sets, I sort of feel like this whole diorama should transform into a stealth bomber or something. Heh.

LEGO Movie Bad Cop's Pursuit 70802 SetFrom the flying police cars and police alligators of LEGO Movie Bad Cop’s Pursuit 70802 set to a fire truck that is secretly a giant robot mecha, it looks like the LEGO Movie is going to have by far the most funky and cracked out ideas we have ever seen in LEGO form.

2014 LEGO Movie Fireman Robot SetThere are so many unbelievably, mind-blowing things going on with these 2014 The LEGO Movie winter sets that I can’t really talk about them all, but I think all of the posted photos in this article speak for themselves. Insanity!!

What do you think of all these wild and bizarre LEGO Movie sets, LEGO fans? Do these have a place in your collection, or might these sets be a bit too “out there” for your tastes?

  1. I’m not so sure if they physically transform or if they’ll put in two sets of instructions. Either way they’re cool. Especially the Police Alligators.

I’m just baffled by some of the reactions on other sites where they hate how these sets look and that they’re “too wacky”. What a lack of imagination on the parts of Lego fans.
