Toy Fair 2015: LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle Tydirium 75094!

Though it’s not exactly the most action-oriented Star Wars vehicle in the saga, the Imperial Shuttle has gotten a ton of love from LEGO over the years, including a spectacular UCS Imperial Shuttle and even a polybag version just last year. And before the Force awakens next winter, we’re heading back to Endor one more time: the Summer 2015 LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle Tydirium 75094 debuted at New York Toy Fair 2015 last week!

Because the enforced street date for Star Wars Episode VII toys isn’t until fall, we’re going to get a smaller-than-usual LEGO Star Wars Summer 2015 sets wave this year (with a ton of LEGO Star Wars The Force Awakens sets coming in the fall).

Of the five new summer LEGO Star Wars sets coming this year, two are from the Original Trilogy (Return of the Jedi, to be specific): the very cool LEGO Death Star Final Duel set I discussed last week, and a brand-new LEGO Imperial Shuttle Tydirium!

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Imperial Shuttle TydiriumAs fans of the Star Wars Original Trilogy will remember, the Tyridium is the specific Imperial Shuttle ship that the Rebels use to travel discretely to Endor (rather than the Imperial Shuttle that Emperor Palpatine arrives at the Death Star II on).

Imperial Shuttle Tydirium LEGO Star Wars Summer 2015 SetThe Imperial Shuttle Tydirium isn’t the most colorful set around (nor should it be), but the build for this set is really quite beautiful. And for the very first time, the Tydirium ship will be able to really go on the offensive, as it’s packing the powerful spring-loaded missiles introduced last year for the very first time! (I love these spring-loaded missiles!).

LEGO 75094 Minifigures Endor Rebel Troopers Leia Han Solo ChewbaccaThe 75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium set includes five minifigures: a Chewbacca figure and new versions of LEGO Endor Leia, Endor Han Solo and two Endor Rebel Trooper minifigures. The LEGO Endor Princess Leia minifigure includes a nice-looking soft goods camouflage poncho, but Endor Han’s trench coat is unfortunately just printed onto the figure.

The Jedi Luke minifigure comes with the Death Star Final Duel set and we’re getting R2-D2 and C-3PO figures with the 2015 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar, so I believe that covers all of the characters who should be present in the Imperial Shuttle Tydirium getting a release this summer/fall.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Minifigures from LEGO Imperial Shuttle Tydirium 75094Rather than giving us carbon copies as army-builders, LEGO opted to give us two unique LEGO Endor Rebel Trooper minifigures! Nice touch, LEGO! It’s a shame that this set is too expensive for most folks to army-build Endor Troopers with.

New York Toy Fair 2015 LEGO Star Wars Sets Display Summer 2015I also took a photo of the LEGO Star Wars 2015 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium set on the wall with the rest of the Summer sets for scale reference. Though the set is under 1,000 pieces, this is a big Imperial Shuttle that will take up a lot of shelf-space!

And speaking of the piece count, LEGO 75094 contains 937 pieces for a $99.99 price-point. That’s not the greatest value in the world at over 10 cents per piece, but considering how large the Shuttle ends up being, it doesn’t seem like a very unfair value at all.

75094 LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle Tydirium Set BoxThe 75094 LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle is scheduled to be released in June 2015 (much earlier in the summer than we’re used to for Star Wars LEGO sets!), so I wouldn’t be surprised if we start seeing this set turn up at some retailers in late spring (May 2015).

How do you like the newest version of the LEGO Imperial Shuttle Tydirium, Star Wars fans? Will this new take on the Tydirium be flying into your collection this summer?

  1. I’m rather torn for this one. I generally buy at least one example of every star wars ship from the original trilogy, but I already have an imperial shuttle. Do I go get this one as well as it’s a specific craft..? Gah!
Not bothered about the minifigs (or I’d be in real trouble)!

  2. Looks like LEGO is going to be highlighting NEW Star Wars figs by the shadow color behind them instead of a new tag on the top of them… if you cant tell, Ive looked at the photos way to much! This set will look very nice next to my UCS Shuttle.
