2014 Star Wars Jawa Sandcrawler Revealed & Photo!

There are three things in Star Wars that I love more than anything else: Astromech droids, Ewoks and Jawas (in that order). LEGO has given us lots of LEGO Star Wars Ewoks and Astromech Droids love over the past few years, but precious little in the way of Jawas. And by precious little, I mean “nothing”. But that ends this summer, when the long-rumored 2014 LEGO Stars Jawa Sandcrawler 75059 set will finally arrive!

LEGO Star Wars Jawa Sandcrawler 75059 2014 SetThis is going to be hard to believe, but the much-loved and well-known Jawas have only been released in one LEGO set ever–the LEGO Star Wars Jawa Sandcrawler 10144 set released way back in 2005. That set included three LEGO Jawa minifigures, each complete with an ion blaster and soft goods cape. If you missed out on the 10144 LEGO Jawa Sandcrawler, then you’ve never had a chance to own LEGO Jawas–until now.

Nearly a decade is a long time to wait between releases of beloved aliens like the Jawas, but LEGO Jawas will finally return this summer with the LEGO Star Wars 2014 Jawa Sandcrawler that’s been been (more than) a rumor since last year! Confirmation of the LEGO Jawa Sandcrawler 2014 release comes via the new edition of the LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary (which is now available for pre-order for a terrific price, by the way).

The new Jawa Sandcrawler looks to be far larger than its predecessor–and with good reason. Rumor has it that this new LEGO Sandcrawler set may retail for as much as $350! I’m hoping that that rumor proves false, as even I would have trouble justifying a $350 LEGO Jawa Sandcrawler. (I’d buy it, mind you, but I’d have trouble justifying it.)

Some of the features built into the new 2014 Star Wars LEGO 75059 Jawa Sandcrawler set include a side-loading hatch, LEGO technic treads, a magnetic winch, mechanized grabber and a little Jawa hoversled.

LEGO Jawa Sandcrawler 75059 Minifigures Owen Lars JawasFrom the initial photos, we can see that the new Jawa Sandcrawler LEGO set will include at least three LEGO Jawa minifigures (I’d love more than that, but I doubt it) and a LEGO Owen Lars minifigure. We haven’t seen a LEGO Owen Lars since the 2005 LEGO 10144 set either, but finally Uncle Owen will have his day in the sun(s) again!

I’ll post more information and photos of the LEGO Star Wars 2014 Jawa Sandcrawler as details become available, and you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have updates and images sent right to your Facebook Newsfeed!

Are you excited for the biggest Jawa Sandcrawler LEGO set ever released and the first LEGO Jawas minifigures in close to a decade LEGO fans? What’s your limit for how much you’d pay for a large-scale LEGO Jawa Sandcrawler?

  1. PLEASE! Let this set be cheaper than the rumors! I love the Jawas! I NEED MOAR!

  2. i wouyld hope that a $350 us (even more in other countries) would have at least 4 jawas, c3 p0, r2d2, uncle owen, and maybe luke or other droids.

  3. Lego Star Wars sets seem to average about 9 cents per piece. So, a $350 Sandcrawler will be about 3,800 pieces. I can’t image that, but it would be cool.
