LEGO has really spoiled us in recent months by having the following month’s LEGO Store Calendar available promptly on the first of each month. So I felt a silly twinge of loss and disappointment yesterday when I discovered that the new July 2014 LEGO Stores calendar was in fact not yet available. Luckily, I didn’t have to suffer wannabe-grief for very long, as the LEGO Store July 2014 calendar has now appeared! And if you’re into TMNT, it’s time to get excited–July 2014 is the biggest month ever for LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at the LEGO Store!

It may not seem like it to us older (and sometimes much older) kids, but Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back and are once again a super-hot property! That’s why in July 2014, LEGO Stores are celebrating TMNT and promoting the Ninja Turtles in a big way with new sets released, contests, giveaways, bonus VIP points, club meetings and even the one-and-only free promo set of the month!

The only free promo LEGO set being given away in July 2014 is a LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Flashback Shredder minifigure with a $75 purchase. I’ll talk about this minifigure and the logic behind it in full in another post shortly, but if you’ve been wondering about the July 2014 LEGO Promo in-stores, it’s the Flashback Shredder, so plan accordingly!

The 2014 July LEGO Store calendar advertises that “all-new LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets” will be available on July 6th, 2014. While the ad on the calendar shows the LEGO TMNT Mutation Chamber set, that set has already been available for a few months.

I have a hunch that someone goofed and the calendar was supposed to tease the LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie sets for the upcoming Michael Bay movie instead. So if you’re waiting for the TMNT Movie LEGO sets, it sounds like July 6 2014 is the big day!

The back of the LEGO Stores July 2014 calendar is once again rather bland, although a couple things did stand out for me that I wanted to point out and make mention of.

I genuinely did not have the slightest idea what the July 2014 LEGO Monthly Mini Model Build was until I read the blurb for it. Apparently, in July 2014 children ages 6-14 (physically, not at heart) can come in on July 1st and build their very own exclusive LEGO Beach Van model!

I thought this as some sort of weird-colored droid at first, but I can sort of see the surf board on the roof of the van and the orange beach gear in the back now. Definitely not my favorite LEGO Mini Monthly Build ever though (thankfully, since I can’t get it anyway).

The other big happening in July 2014 is the return of the LEGO Ninjago Season 3 cartoon series! According to the July LEGO Store 2014 calendar, an “all new special event” in the series will air on July 13 2014. People literally ask me every week when the Ninjago cartoon is returning–so here you go, guys! Get excited!
