August 2014 LEGO Stores Calendar: Promos, Releases & Events!

The last several weeks have been unbearably slow as far as LEGO news and releases go. I’ve literally been making trips out to the store for no reason whatsoever other than the futile hope of discovering previously unknown polybag sets just showing up in stores at random. But the LEGO withdrawal anxiety is at an end, as there is finally some fresh LEGO summer news to report! Though we haven’t quite made it into July, the August 2014 LEGO Store Calendar of promos, releases and events is now available!

August 2014 LEGO Store CalendarAugust 2014 is just around the corner (well, sort of), and in August 2014 LEGO Stores will be featuring one of my personal favorite LEGO themes: LEGO Legends of Chima! Chima fans have had to wait longer than anyone (besides LEGO Star Wars collectors) for the Summer 2014 LEGO sets to arrive, but their time has come! Not only that, but new episodes of the LEGO Chima cartoon are confirmed to start airing on August 9, 2014!

LEGO Legends of Chima Summer 2014 SetLEGO Legends of Chima Summer 2014 Sets Release Dates Release DateThe official release date for the LEGO Legends of Chima Summer 2014 sets is August 1st, 2014 at the LEGO Stores. I would be willing to bet that we’ll actually begin seeing the Summer 2014 LEGO Chima sets pop up in stores in the second half of July 2014, however–stay tuned to the Bricks and Bloks Facebook Page for instant updates on when and where the Chima LEGO Summed 2014 sets start turning up.

LEGO Stores August 2014 LEGO Mini Cooper Mini Model Free Promo Polybag Set

Of course, it’s not the new sets that (most) people have been waiting to see on the August 2014 LEGO Store calendar–it’s the free promo sets! And in August 2014, LEGO Stores in the United States have twoawesome LEGO free promo polybag sets lined up for us!

The first is the 40109 LEGO Creator Mini Cooper Mini Model set. This promos is scheduled to start in July 2014 in Europe, but US LEGO collectors are going to have to wait until August 1st 2014 for it to begin. Customers making a qualifying purchase of $99 or more in August will get the mini LEGO Mini Cooper polybag set free.

LEGO Worriz Fire Bike 30265 Polybag Promo August 2014 LEGO StoresBut that’s not all–! The long-known LEGO Legends of Chima Worriz’ Fire Bike 30265 set will finally get a USA release beginning the last week of 2014. This will be the first LEGO Legends of Chima polybag promo at the LEGO Store since January 2013, so it’s been a wait for Chima collectors. Worriz of the Wolf Tribe is far from a favorite LEGO Chima character of mine, but I’m definitely psyched to get a new LEGO Fire Armor Worriz minifigure for free!

Note that there’s a bit of overlap with the LEGO Mini Cooper 40109 mini set promo, so if that set isn’t sold out by the last week of August (and I suspect it may be), there’s a possibility of getting both the 30265 LEGO Worriz Fire Bike and LEGO Mini Cooper polybag sets with a single purchase!

LEGO Store August 2014 Calendar Back

The back of the LEGO Store August 2014 calendar is pretty bland, as usual, but there are a couple interesting things worth noticing on it. First is the confirmation that the LEGO Star Wars Summer 2014 sets are scheduled to be released by August 2014 (if not sooner), including the 2014 LEGO Imperial Star Destroyer set!

In addition, the August 2014 LEGO Mini Monthly Build set is going to be a little monkey. It’s cute and all, but I’m (thankfully) satisfied with the monkey we got in the LEGO Creator Jungle animals set at the start of the year.

What do you think of the LEGO Stores August 2014 calendar, LEGO fans? Are you excited for the free promo polybag sets or the new Summer 2014 sets being released? Will you be visiting your local LEGO Store in August 2014?

  1. Finally!!!! I hope we will start to see the newest Legends of Chima sets in mid- July. I can hardly wait, but it gives me some time to save some substantial duckets-moola- or money as we know it. My son and I are very excited but slightly disappointed in the lack of interest in the Chima brand by other Lego fans. I hope this year will change their hearts to love Chima as much as we do!!!!!
