LEGO Chima Worriz’ Fire Bike 30265 Polybag Promo Set Revealed!

Ever since it was announced last month that Europe would be getting the LEGO Legends of Chima Worriz’ Fire Bike 30265 polybag promo set as a freebie in July 2014, Chima fans have been writing me and asking if they should be worried about the set not coming to the United States. I’ve been telling them to sit tight for just a little while longer, as the set would almost certainly make it to America shortly after the UK and the rest of Europe. That faith has been rewarded–the 30265 LEGO Worriz’ Fire Bike promo polybag has now been announced for a North America release!

LEGO Worriz' Fire Bike LEGO Chima Summer 2014 Set

LEGO Legends of Chima tends to be a theme that most folks either love or hate, but I’m personally a huge fan of the original LEGO animal tribes theme. But while I felt a bit slighted when a LEGO Europe announced before any kind of LEGO USA release for the Worriz Fire Bike LEGO Chima set, I didn’t panic–Europe has been getting most LEGO Chima releases a month or so before the United States. A new Chima set being announced first overseas isn’t necessarily any cause for alarm.

And it turns out, the LEGO Chima Worriz’ Fire Bike polybag set is no exception.

LEGO Legends of Chima Worriz' Fire Bike 30265 Set LEGO Store August 2014 PromoThe LEGO 30265 Worriz’ Fire Bike set has now been officially announced as a LEGO promotional set on the August 2014 LEGO Store Calendar. Starting August 25, 2014 and running until September 14, 2014, Legends of Chima LEGO collectors will be able to snatch the Worriz’s Fire Bike LEGO 30265 set with any purchase of $50 or more at the LEGO Store.

The items purchased to qualify for the free promo LEGO Worriz’ Fire Bike polybag can be any LEGO sets–not just LEGO Legends of Chima sets. As such, I think this will (hopefully) be a good way to bring new fans to the Chima fold (something that the LEGO Chima theme dearly needs).

LEGO Frax's Phoenix Flyer 30264 Set LEGO Legends of Chima Summer 2014

While the future is now assured for the Worriz Fire Bike 30265 set, it’s still unknown when or where the LEGO Frax’s Phoenix Flyer 30264 set will be released in the U.S. I’d like to think it’ll be available during the second half of September 2014 in US LEGO Stores, but two LEGO Legends of Chima polybags in a single month at the USA LEGO Stores seems very unlikely.

I suppose we’ll have to wait and see exactly how this one pans out (which is annoying, as I absolutely intend to collect all the LEGO Phoenix Tribe minifigures, including LEGO Frax). I’ll post an update to the Bricks and Bloks Facebook Page once details are known regarding the release of the 30264 LEGO Legends of Chima Frax’s Phoenix Flyer set in the United States.

30265 LEGO Chima Worriz' Fire Bike Polybag Promo SetWhat do you think of the free promo polybag LEGO Worriz’ Fire Bike set, LEGO fans? Will you be making a purchase at your LEGO Store in August/September 2014 to nab the latest LEGO Worriz minifigure version in his Fire Armor, or is this promo offer not exciting enough to earn your attention?

  1. the frax polybag is available on the australian website for purchases of $45 or more, if you have any friends in australia maybe you could get them to send you one.
in regards to the worriz fire bike, the first thing i thought when i saw it was ” how is the front wheel connected?” then i realised that it, like all other chima bikes so far, would have one side with ugly technic while the other side looks super awesome and sleek. this is the one reason for which slightly dampens my love of the theme. if the frax pheonix flyer is exclusive to certain countries while worriz fire bike is exclusive to others would be a possibility, then i am glad im in a country whch has the pheonix flyer, as i dont like the old characters in new fire outfit(it looks bad on all but the lions) and i want to collect all the pheonixes( or is the proper term pheonii?)

  2. These “free with purchase” deals at Lego stores is not where most polybag sets come from. Of last year’s six Chima polybags, only one was part of such a promotion (Ewar). The others were available at retail at TRU, Target, and Walmart. TRU often does their own “polybag free with purchase” deals, though sometime you have to go online for it if your local TRU location turns out to not actually have any of them there. (And if they do have it you can just buy it directly for $5.) TRU also does polybag releases as part of their summer Saturday afternoon free build program. If you don’t have a child to bring with you, if you’re careful you can usually grab one and walk away with it anyway. The leftovers also tend to eventually turn up on the shelf for $5 too. Target and Walmart sometimes have batches of specific polybag sets tied to Easter or Christmas displays (don’t look for them near the normal Lego isle!), though you can also often find them in the checkout isles with the candy and whatnot.

Of last year’s Chima polybags (and the Galaxy Squad polybags as well), the only one I had to take extraordinary measures (eBay) to get was 30255 Crawley. I still have no idea where or how that thing was actually released. All the rest I purchased in person or got as part of a “with purchase” promo. Of this year’s Chima polybags, I already got the spider set from the checkout isle at a Meijers, following a tip from a Lego news site.

More polybag sets than not are released quietly with no fanfare, but if you pay attention online and keep checking stores, they usually aren’t that hard to get. Plus eBay tends to have plenty of them. (Late last year I spotted the DC Robin Redbird cycle polybag at a TRU mere days after I broke down and bought it off eBay.)

  3. I really like Frax’s Phoenix Flyer. I hope it gets a wide release and is not a “with purchase” item. I could make use a a few of those.
