While I’m on the mailing list for the LEGO Club Magazine that comes out bimonthly, I have to guiltily admit that I oftentimes don’t exactly read it cover to cover. While I’m a voracious reader and I get totally jazzed about the photos and ads for upcoming sets in the LEGO Club Magazine, most of the magazines tend to consist of word finds and comic strips that I’m less than crazy about. But this month… this month is different! I had heard clear photos of another trio of LEGO Minifigures Series 12 71007 figures debuted this month–and my copy of the LEGO Magazine finally arrived today with glimpses of the Piggy Guy, Prospector and Spooky Girl minifigures!

LEGO Minifigures Series 12 has been a long time coming–and I mean a long time coming! It’s crazy to think that not only have we not had a plain LEGO Minifigures series released since LEGO Minifigures Series 11 came out in Fall 2013, but we’re still going to have to wait until Fall 2014 for LEGO Minifigures Series 12 71007 to arrive!

Luckily, LEGO is revealing images of the minifigs that make up LEGO 71007 ever so slowly, to keep anticipation high and our curiosities piqued. We got our first look at six of the LEGO Series 12 Minifigures a couple months ago from an international catalog that debuted the Battle Goddess, Video Game Guy, Wizard, Space Miner, Dino Tracker and Swashbuckler minifigures.

We were hoping that seeing those six LEGO Minifigures Series 12 blind bag figures might be precursor to an early reveal of the entire series, but we’ve been waiting since May to no avail.

But now, the wait is over (at least–partially)! It’s taken over a month for it to happen, but images of the next three LEGO Minifigures Series 12 have now appeared in the July/August 2014 LEGO Club Magazine! As soon as my copy of the magazine arrived in my mailbox, I whisked it into my apartment to hi-res scan the long-awaited images of the LEGO 71007 Minifigures Series 12 figures.

Of the three, my least favorite is definitely the LEGO Prospector minifigure. While he’s pretty well-detailed, his dirty, greedy look and gold tooth totally creep me out. And the fact that our first image of the LEGO Minifigures Series 12 Prospector minifigure depicts him flying around on his pick-axe definitely doesn’t help! I like the Prospector LEGO Minifigure’s beard and hat, but otherwise this one figure is gonna be a pass for me.

Thankfully, I really love both of the other two new Series 12 LEGO Minifigures. The LEGO Piggy Guy minifigure (LEGO Pig Costume Guy) continues the long-running subset of LEGO minifigures wearing animal costumes, and is just too funny. He comes with a green Granny Smith LEGO apple. I think that I might have to put him with my LEGO Chima Lion Tribe and Wolf Tribe minifigures and let them feud over who gets to try to eat the poor Piggy Guy!

Meanwhile, we get the third monochrome LEGO CMF in the form of the LEGO Spooky Girl minifigure! With the spider coming out of the Goth Girl’s pocket and her frowning, haggard-looking teddy bear accessory, this really is a freaky LEGO minifigure! I think this is a really fun and unique LEGO minifigure, and I’ll be looking forward to pulling the Spooky Girl LEGO Minifigure blind bag later on this year in October 2014 (just in time for Halloween)!
