Usually the weekends are pretty slow as far as news goes, but on this lovely Saturday the peace has been broken by an earth-shattering photo revealing some of the minifigures from what will be for many the most anticipated release of the entire year! While we’ve had two 2014 LEGO Minifigures Series released already, both of those have been themed (LEGO Movie and LEGO Simpsons). But in October 2014, plain old LEGO Minifigures Series 12 71007 will finally arrive–and now we’ve got photos of the first six figures that make up that series, including a Wizard, a Battle Goddess, and even a Video Gamer!

Seeing as how LEGO 71007 Minifigures Series 12 blind bags aren’t scheduled to ship until Q4 2014 and we’re still in Q2 2014, I really didn’t expect to see any of these figures revealed at all until San Diego Comic Con 2014.

But I guess the Japanese just couldn’t wait any longer, because a Japanese LEGO Catalog posted by legojapan  has not only confirmed the previous leaked list of LEGO Minifigures Series 12 figures, but also revealed the first half-dozen figures that will make up this year’s only set of non-themed LEGO Minifigures Series figures!

First up, we’ve got the LEGO Wizard Minifigure. LEGO has done plenty of wizards over the years in the LEGO Castle and LEGO Harry Potter themes, but I can’t recall a dead-ringer for Disney’s Merlin being done before now! He looks terrific, and while I’m not a big wizard guy, I am a big Disney guy. The LEGO Merlin Minifigure is a must have for me!

Next, it’s the LEGO Minifigures Series 12 Space Miner! When I read the leaked list for LEGO 71007, I was wondering what the heck a “Space Miner” was. I thought it might be a bad translation, but lo and behold, this exactly what I would expect a space miner to look like! I don’t know if this is necessarily a minifigure that I need, but the design is sort of fun.

The LEGO Minifigures Series 12 Swashbuckler minifigure is quite a dashing fellow! I foresee a lot of LEGO fans buying up multiples of this figure and doing head swaps to create their own LEGO Three Musketeers!

We get to see two powerful female LEGO Minifigures in this photo for the first time too: the LEGO Minifigures Series 12 LEGO Battle Goddess minifigure and the LEGO Dino Tracker minifigure! I was very surprised that the LEGO Dino Tracker figure is a female, but she looks tough as nails and I love her crossbow.

Meanwhile, the step-like sloped dress of the LEGO Battle Goddess is too cool! With a detailed shield, helmet and spear, the LEGO Battle Goddess minifigure comes close to being my favorite figure revealed in this set so far!

Of course, hands-down, my favorite figure in 71007 LEGO Minifigures Series 12 right now is the LEGO Gamer (LEGO Video Game Guy). It’s like me as a LEGO figure! With a classic video game controller, headphones and a “Player 1” shirt, I downright love the LEGO Video Game Guy minifigure.
