LEGO Fairground Mixer 10244 Set Photos & Order Info

ORIGINAL 4/26/2014: Confession time: I hate roller coasters with a fiery passion. My stomach can’t handle rides with drops, and I hate rides that get me soaked almost as much. At most amusement parks, there’s a grand total of one ride that I really and truly love–and it’s coming in LEGO form this summer! Sometimes it’s called the Scrambler, sometimes it’s called the Twist, and my wife calls it “the spin and barf”, but in June 2014, it’ll be coming as the “Mixer” in the spectacular LEGO Fairground Mixer 10244 set that has just been unveiled!

UPDATE: 5/15/2014: The LEGO Fairground Mixer is now available for order online! Make sure to log into your LEGO VIP account to order!

LEGO Creator Fairground Mixer Set Box 10244 June 2014 LEGO Stores ExclusiveI’ve become so accustomed to leaked photos and images that when LEGO manages to do a grand reveal of a set that I’ve never seen before, I am well and truly astounded. That’s what’s happened this weekend, as LEGO has completely stupefied me by premiering the 10244 LEGO Creator Fairground Mixer at the Sydney Brick Show 2014 in Australia!

LEGO 10244 Fairground Mixer Set ContentsThe 10244 LEGO Fairground Mixer is one of the most incredible LEGO sets I’ve seen in years, and while I don’t always purchase LEGO Creator Expert sets, this set is an absolute must buy for me. I am well and truly stunned by the cleverness and charm of this upcoming LEGO Store exclusive set.

10244 LEGO Fairground Mixer Truck Carrying Carnival BoothsLet’s start at the beginning, where all county fairs and carnivals begin–with the carnival trucks arriving in town! This first truck is carrying several booths on the back that we’ll see set up in just a moment, as well as a well-known carnival game stored on the undercarriage!

LEGO Creator Fairground Mixer Truck Carrying RideMeanwhile, this hulking truck is carrying one of the most beloved (at least by me) fairground rides ever: the mixer ride/scrambler ride!

LEGO 10244 Fairground Mixer Scramler Carnival RideYou just unfold the LEGO Fairground Mixer ride off of the truck and it’s literally ready to go in seconds! My jaw hit the floor when I saw how well-designed this part of the set is!

June 2014 LEGO Creator Expert Fairground Mixer RideThat happy guy front and center with the great big smile on his face…? Yep, that’s me…! (As a LEGO minifigure. With no glasses. …Okay, it’s not me.)

There’s a crank that you can use to turn the LEGO Mixer ride, but if you prefer, the set is fully-compatible with LEGO Power Functions, so you can just pop in a motor and watch the set go if you prefer!

LEGO Creator 10244 Fairground Mixer Ticket BoothOf course, the fun doesn’t stop there! There’s a ticket booth where you can trade your LEGO money for tickets for the rides or refreshments…

10244 LEGO Fairground Mixer Dunk Tank…as well as everyone’s favorite carnival game: the LEGO Dunk Tank! If you hit the target with the ball, the LEGO Dunk Tank actually drops the LEGO minifigure into the “water”–just like a real dunk tank!

LEGO 10244 Fairground Mixer Clown on Stilts MinifigureOne of the coolest LEGO minifigures ever comes with the LEGO Creator Expert Fairground Mixer–the LEGO Clown on Stilts Minifigure! I love the idea of getting a super-tall minifigure like this in a “normal” (non-licensed) set, and think that the man on stilts LEGO minifigure adds a ton of fun to an already incredible LEGO set.

LEGO Strongman Game from 10244 LEGO Fairground Mixer SetAnd what LEGO carnival would be complete without a strongman game (sometimes called the “test of strength” game)? Yes, the game actually works–you can really try to hit the LEGO bell with the LEGO brick!

LEGO-Creator-Fairground-Mixer-FenceThere’s also a gigantic fence that encloses the entire Mixer ride, to keep the kiddos from accidentally wandering into danger.

LEGO-10244-Fairground-Mixer-MinifiguresAnd of course, you get a ton of great LEGO minifigures with this set, including the LEGO Stilts Clown, Carny, Barfing Man, Older Woman, Kids, Strongman and more! In total, you get a full dozen minifigures with the 10244 LEGO Fairground Mixer Creator Expert set!

10244-LEGO-Creator-Fairground-Mixer-Semi-Truck-Side-ViewI’ve posted a photo album with a ton more images of this LEGO 10244 set now on the Bricks and Bloks Facebook page, so check those out if you want to see a couple dozen more shots of the spectacular LEGO Fairground Mixer 10244 set!

The 10244 LEGO Creator Fairground Mixer set contain 1,746 pieces for just $149.99, making the set quite a deal at just over eight cents per piece.

You really and truly need to see the LEGO 10244 Fairground Mixer in action to understand how LEGO takes what sounds like a very complex transformation system and makes it simple and endearing–and you can do just that thanks to the LEGO Designer video that I’ve posted above! Go ahead and watch it–you’ll be glad you did!

LEGO Fairground Mixer 10244 Set Box Back June 2014The LEGO Fairground Mixer 10244 set will be released exclusively via the online LEGO Store and official LEGO Brand Stores in June 2014. You don’t be able to purchase this set from Walmart, Target, and Toys R Us–only through official LEGO Stores and the LEGO Shop website. I will absolutely, no matter what, be picking up this particular set during its release month, and I’ll post a review and photos (and perhaps even some video for a change!) once I have the set in hand.

How do you like the upcoming Fairground Mixer LEGO set, LEGO fans? Do you agree with my assessment that this is one of the most lovable and well-designed LEGO sets ever, or do you find LEGO’s latest take on a county fair less compelling than I do?

  1. Gorgeous, innovative design, and fun at the same time! I love the colors and how it actually functions like a real ride and that it can be packed away just like the real thing.

In my youth I had always wondered if LEGO would ever make a ThemePark set (Rollercoaster or other ride). I designed a ride similar to the round up, but unfortunately because of the high speed motors I used, the mini figs got flung out of the ride each time and due to my lack of parts, it always tilted off its axis and wobbled off the motor and onto the floor in a million pieces…

Could this be the first of fair/themepark related sets? I was reading an article about how this fits in the modular series and that this is the First set that will focus on the Fair. I don’t know if that means we will get more rides in the future like we did with other Modular Buildings in that series.

$150 bones seems like a high price but considering inflation, I understand it.

  2. The carnival ride and all the parts are going to be BIG. I usually don’t get excited about a LEGO set but this is an exception, I CAN HARDLY WAIT…..By the way today I was in my localTarget store in Torrance, Calif. and guess what? They already had the Series 13 Simpson blind bags for sale and they must have just put them out as I was able to find a full set, all 16 figures in about 30 minutes, This series is much easier to tell what figure is in the bag by feeling around for the accessory pieces. At $3.00 a bag minus the Target REDCARD discount this was a real deal.

  3. Too much for me, but I would if I could!
    Hey, I have a question:
How much do you spend on lego per month and per year ?

  4. That video really sells it, showing how the trucks get taken apart into the ride pieces and how well everything is hidden. I really love how the extra garbage can locks the fence halves together.

  5. in2013 I (and my family) spent about $2000 on Lego. Now that I have bought most of the stuff that I want that is from the last few years I only have to buy things like this that come out or are on sale on Amazon or Ebay.

    • I couldn’t wait. . .I ordered mine today, No free balloon vendor but a two for one bonus ticket to LEGOLAND is great, I’ll have to find something else to buy in June to get the BALLOON VENDOR.

  6. I had told my wife that I would wait until June but like Ed I was not able to. Good thing I plan on getting the Mixels in June and will end up being ableto come up with SOMETHING to hit the mark for the balloon vendor.

  7. I’m a huge roller coaster person. However, I enjoy the Scrambler as well. Forget the spaceship, I want Mixer, Mixer, MIXER!

  8. I have to have this. I worked at a carnival for 3 years and met my husband there. I must have.

  9. I got mine on Tuesday and it has been one of the most fun builds that I have done. I have only done bags one and two as I did not want to take away time from my wife who bought the set for me, but looking at bag three it seems like just as much fun (although it seems like once you start building the seat parts its VERY repetitious.) I am glad that I was able to pick this up before I head to Kuwait for six months.
