LEGO Minifigures Series 12 71007 Clearance Sale! $1 Each!

My cat’s had a rough week, so I headed off to Target this morning to pick up some Cheddar Delights Fancy Feast to spoil him with (he usually only gets high-quality but blah-tasting health food, so this is a real treat). Of course, there is a LEGO relevancy to this article, so stay with me here. Thursday also happens to be the day that’s favored by many Target stores for marking down regularly-priced items to clearance, so I wasn’t surprised to see some red tags in the toy department. I was, however, shocked to see just what was on sale: the 71007 LEGO Minifigures Series 12 figures have now hit clearance at some Target stores!

Target Clearance Sale LEGO Minifigures Series 12

Remember when folks complained about LEGO raising the MSRP for the LEGO Minifigures Series 12 71007 minifigs up to $3.99 per blind bag? Well, some folks said that they absolutely weren’t going to pay the increased price. Target stores initially sold a lot of blind bagged minifigures to these collectors when they priced the series at just $2.99 each, but after they raised the price to the proper $3.99, sales slowed down.

And it seems sales may have decreased more than management liked, because now some Target stores have begun marking the Series 12 LEGO Minifigures down–way down!

LEGO Minifigures Series 12 Clearance Sale StickersMy local Target store’s endcap was absolutely loaded down with LEGO Minifigs Series 12, with at least five dozen blind bags neatly placed in rows on the endcap. The sales tags read that the minifigures were reduced from $3.99 to $1.99, and then further reduced to $1.18 per pack. With tax, that’s only a dollar and a quarter per blind bag–Crazy!!

71007 LEGO Minifigures Series 12 Blind Bags in BasketBefore you all want to flay me for picking up 34 LEGO Minifigures Series 12 blind bags at about a dollar apiece, hold the pitchforks: these blind bags are for a good cause (by which, I mean “not for me to hoard for my collection”).

I’ve already got my own set of LEGO Series 12 Minifigures, so these 34 are all going to my favorite charity, Toys for Tots.  I meant to pick up thirty-two blind bags so there would be a possibility of two complete sets going to charity, but it seems I overshot. Oh well! More joy for some kids!

LEGO Minifigures Series 12 Clearance Target $1.18 EachKeep in mind that not all Target stores start their clearance sales at the same time, and some stores often don’t even discount the same times, so you may have to hunt around a bit to find these on sales (and even then you might not find these minifigures at all). And even if your local stores do decide to clearance these Series 12 LEGO minifigures, these will sell out fast with both collectors hunting them and parents prowling for stocking stuffers.

If you’ve been holding out on the Series 12 minifigs, now may be the time to hunt for them! Has anyone besides me spotted LEGO 71007 Minifigures Series 12 on clearance at their local Target stores?

  1. If a price on a clearance item ends in an 8, that means it will later drop down in price again.

  2. I didn’t even get past the first photo in your post when I went running out to our local Target. Sadly, I checked every clearance section with no luck. The security guard started following me… clearly I must have looked very suspicious with in my franticness.

I suspect our Target is one of those that doesn’t need to mark down much LEGO. :/

  3. Incredibly greedy on Lego’s part upping the price of Minifigs too quickly and has backfired on them. Not to mention they are now made in china and not in Europe. They need to keep the price at $2-2.50 each. I can get Playmobil blind packs for $2.99 and they are much bigger and have more parts. These should not be $3.99.

I am going back to Target and returning all the Minifigs I paid $3.99

  4. My Target is not even carrying the Lego Blind Packs. I even tried online, nothing. Anyone want to help a fellow Lego collector out?
