LEGO Minifigures Series 14 Figures Released Early!

Well, well, well! It may have been less than two weeks since the LEGO Minifigures 71010 figures were officially announced (and seven months since they were unofficially revealed), but it looks like those in new minifigure deprivation won’t have to wait quite as long as feared! As I was half-asleep and getting ready to coma last night, I got a surprising photo in my inbox from a reader, confirming what many fans have been waiting for: 71010 LEGO Minifigures Series 14 figures have now been released early in the United States and are already turning up for sale online!

LEGO Minifigures Series 14 Blind Bags Released

Those hoping to get their mitts on the Series 14 Minifigures figures just a little bit early can rejoice: Target stores in the United States are already receiving the latest series of blind bags!

John C. wrote in to me last night with the above image: hello! FYI – found Series 14 minifigures at my local target this morning, however the bar code does not scan/work though – so I took a Simpsons Series 2 along with several series 14 and informed the associate the price is the same for all. Just a FYI so u can share the news with the group! take care!”

Now, it’s no surprise that the barcode for this latest sets of minifigs wasn’t in the Target computer yet: the official release date for this set isn’t until September 1st 2015, and they’re technically not supposed to be out on the shelves yet. That said, as soon as cases of new LEGO figures begin to arrive in the warehouses of retail stores, accidents will happen, and new figures will get put out early! How widespread this particular early release turns out to be remains to be seen.

LEGO Minifigures Series 14 Fly Monster Wolf Guy Plant MonsterJohn sent in a couple high-res photos of the three figures that he picked up from the blind bag series: the Fly Monster, Wolf Guy and Plant Monster minifigures. I initially thought that the Fly minifigure looked super-evil and scary in the official photos, but the actual figure being released is sort of adorable. I think I’m going to need a couple of these Fly Monsters after all!

I still can’t decide if the Plant Monster figure is meant to be a person who’s freaked out because he’s been mutated into a crazy plant/human hybrid, or if it’s a dude that freaking out because he’s in the midst of being eaten by a man-eating plant. What do you think, readers?

71110 LEGO Minifigures Series 14 Figures In-HandThus far, the only reports that I’ve heard of this series of blind bags being released in stores have been from Target stores, but Toys R Us usually gets their minifigure series figures in 1-2 weeks before the official release date of each series as well. So if you’re on the prowl and looking to start your monster mash early, I recommend that Toys R Us and Target be the stores that you start your hunt at!

Most of the Series 14 minifigs have now turned up for sale online, so if you can’t find them in your local stores and absolutely can’t wait, you can buy them on the internet (although the prices are admittedly rather inflated at the moment).

Have you spotted any of the Minifigures Series 14 blind bags at your local stores, brick fans? If not, now that you know that they’re out there in some places, are you going out on a hunting quest for this set yourself, or waiting until the official 9/1/2015 release date?

LEGO Minifigures Series 14 Figures Released Early! — 10 Comments

  1. I saw them yesterday in Raleigh, NC! If they’ve hit the East Coast, they should be most places by now!

  2. Minifigures don’t sell very well since they up the price to $3.99. Many targets and even TRU has them sitting there forever. My TRU still has the 2 previous series sitting there. The Simpsons ones are the least popular ones. Nobody cares for the new Simpsons one even for $3.49.

  3. Found some today at my Target (Bluffton, SC). I think the box was put out by accident, because it was with ninja turtles toys and away from the other Legos.
