LEGO Star Wars 2014 Polybags Sets Revealed! Imperial Shuttle!

It’s sort of strange–the new year has arrived, but not a single one of the LEGO Star Wars 2014 sets has turned up at retail yet. Ordinarily, there have been at least a few early sightings at Toys R Us by now. But this year? Nada. Even so, we know all of the regular-sized LEGO Star Wars 2014 winter and summer sets already, and now we even know what the 2014 LEGO Star Wars polybags sets are going to be! The Emperor will be arriving shortly in the cutest little LEGO Imperial Shuttle ever, flanked by a pair of quasi-popular prequel starfighters…

30246 LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle Polybag Set LEGO 2014For a company that tries so very desperately to keep their upcoming products a secret, you would think that LEGO wouldn’t end up leaking images of their own new sets themselves. But, well–I guess LEGO’s customer service department cares more about taking care of LEGO customers than it does keeping secrets, because the LEGO Customer Service website has once again revealed images of a plethora of new LEGO 2014 polybags!

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Polybags Anakin's Jedi Interceptor 30244 SetThe most popular LEGO polybag sets released in any given year are usually the LEGO Star Wars sets, and I think LEGO has put together a pretty nifty little assortment for 2014. The headliner of this year’s wave has to be the LEGO Imperial Shuttle 30246, which is the the first LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle since the Ultimate Collector’s Series LEGO 10212 set that was amazing (and amazingly expensive) in 2010. The Emperor’s favorite ride looks pretty simplistic, but it’s still great to see this original trilogy vehicle back in LEGO form again.

Next up we’ve got the LEGO Star Wars 30244 Anakin’s Jedi Interceptor polybag set, which is by far my favorite of the 2014 LEGO Star Wars polybags trio. This is the green starfighter Anakin flies in the latter portion of Revenge of the Sith, and I really like the dark green coloration instead of the bright yellow Jedi Starfighter that Anakin typically pilots. The build here looks like a lot of fun, and I can already tell I’ll have this LEGO model sitting at my desk and flying through space for months.

2014 LEGO Star Wars ARC-170 Starfighter Polybag Set 30247Finally, we’ve got the LEGO 30247 ARC-170 Starfighter polybag. Despite being the predecessor to the iconic X-Wing Starfighter, the poor ARC-170 Starfighter has just never been as popular as Lucasfilm (and toy companies) would like. While I’m not a huge fan of the ARC-170 Starfighter myself, this particular ARC-170 polybag looks very nice with an intricate design. I don’t buy a lot of ARC-170 merch, but for $3-$5, I’ll definitely grab this little LEGO Star Wars set when it flies in later in 2014.

No specific release details are known yet for any of these three LEGO 2014 Star Wars polybag sets, but I’ll post an update here and to the Bricks and Bloks Facebook Page once these sets start arriving in stores.

As usual, I intend to pick up all of this year’s LEGO Star Wars polybags–they’re just too cheap for me to skip! What about you, LEGO fans? Will these cute little sets be on your 2014 shopping list, or are you saving your dollars for bigger and more complex LEGO 2014 sets?

  1. The new 2014 Star Wars sets have been confirmed by Lego to be coming out in March for the US. Apparently, they don’t want Star Wars to compete with their Movie sets, so they’re delaying the release until after the Lego Movie comes out.
