LEGO must have decided that we were growing complacent, so they decided to throw us a curveball and switch things up a bit this month! While we can usually count on the next month’s LEGO Store Calendar being posted online one month and one day ahead of time, we get merely one month’s notice of the upcoming March 2015 LEGO Store deals, promos and events.
But while waiting the extra day was agony, at least LEGO has some good stuff cooked up for us on the LEGO Store March 2015 Calendar–including two free promos, some major new sets being launched–and the return of Double VIP Points!

A lot of folks were overjoyed when news surfaced that LEGO Bionicle would be returning in 2015, replacing the less-than-beloved LEGO Hero Factory line. While I’d never owned a LEGO Bionicle toy in my life, I was anxious to give the revived 2015 LEGO Bionicle theme a try–and what better place to begin than with a lime green Bionicle (to match my car): 70784 Lewa Master of Jungle!

Most people my age stay up partying for hours past midnight on New Year’s Eve. Me? I was in bed within five minutes of the ball dropping on TV. I’m back from the big city, and I didn’t come back from New York Comic Con 2014 empty-handed! Although LEGO didn’t show off any new products other than the first LEGO Bionicle 2014 sets at NYCC 2014 (and didn’t bring anything to sell–period), LEGO did have one very cool item available for LEGO collectors: the NYCC 2014 LEGO Bionicle Exclusive Tahu Mask! LEGO didn’t issue their usual press release advertising their presence at New York Comic Con 2014, so I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect from the NYCC 2014 LEGO booth. A LEGO phenomena has occurred that is even more rare than finding a LEGO Mr. Gold minifigure in a random blind bag: LEGO made a major announcement regarding upcoming LEGO 2015 sets and my wife is more excited than I am.
