I have not exactly been the staunchest supporter of the new-for-2014 LEGO Mixels theme, as the aesthetic and feel of the sets is just way, way outside of the box so far as my LEGO sensibilities go. That said, I’d be blind not to see how much passion and enthusiasm many collectors have for LEGO Mixels, so I’ve been on the lookout for LEGO Mixels Series 2 in the United States. I saw some online sellers in the United States selling the Series 2 Mixels LEGO sets earlier this week, so I figured it was time to check stores again. And sure enough, all of LEGO Mixels Series 2 has now been released in United States stores!

Yesterday I talked about two of the three new LEGO Mixels Series 2 tribes–the Blue Frosticons and the Orange Flexers–and now it’s time to talk about the third and final new Series 2 tribe of Mixels–the Brown Fang Gang!

Each of the LEGO Mixel tribes we’ve seen so far has a unifying theme between its characters, and the Mixels Fang Gang does too. As it turns out, the brown Mixels all live on a farm together, and their defining characteristic is that they like to eat lots and lots of food…

LEGO Mixels have come out of nowhere to become a real sales sensation among kids and AFOLs, and fans can’t wait for the 2014 Summer LEGO Mixels Series 2 figures to arrive! Earlier tonight I talked about my favorite of the new three Mixels tribes to be introduced–the blue Mixels Frosticons tribe, but that’s not to say there’s not some other cool creatures lined up for Mixels Series 2!

I admit it: I thought that the LEGO Mixels theme was going to be a total bomb. But as it turns out, I was wrong: LEGO Mixels Series 1 is a bonafide smash hit! The nine figures that make up LEGO Series 1 Mixels have sold out in many stores and are difficult to find at retail (although all of the Mixels are in-stock consistently at the online LEGO Store), and many collectors are jazzed-up and ready for LEGO Mixels Series 2! And those fans are in luck–LEGO Mixels Series 2 will be arriving in just two months, including the awesome Mixels Blue Frosticons sets!

Anyone who reads regularly knows that I am not exactly the biggest proponent of the new LEGO Mixels theme debuting this winter. That said, when I walked into my local LEGO Store today and saw all of the LEGO Mixels Series 1 figures in-stock, I just knew I had to buy one and test out Mixels for myself.

As I expected, these aren’t the most compelling LEGO sets I’ve bought this year, but the Mixels LEGO sets aren’t all bad either…

Given their decades of immense success and the thousands of extremely fun toys they’ve produced, LEGO has earned my trust and respect. Even so, occasionally LEGO will reveal something that will make me raise my eyebrow a little bit and make me wonder what in the world they’re thinking. Such was the case when I saw one of the big new LEGO 2014 themes for the first time: LEGO Mixels.

Having now read all of the available materials on LEGO Mixels and observing each 2014 LEGO Mixels set closely, I’m now willing to give Mixels the benefit of a doubt…
