LEGO Star Wars Jango Fett & Commander Cody Figures Revealed!

LEGO Star Wars Sets Revealed Celebration Anaheim

I’m sure that there’s nothing that LEGO would have loved more than to blow all of our socks off by revealing some of the immensely-anticipated LEGO Star Wars Force Awakens sets at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim this weekend. Unfortunately, Disney’s worldwide embargo on revealing any merchandise for Star Wars Episode VII thwarted that possibility. So instead, we got to take our first look at a couple of sets that I’m not sure top anyone’s lists–the LEGO Star Wars Jango Fett and Commander Cody buildable figures!

LEGO Star Wars Flash Speeder Summer 2015 Set Preview!

75091 LEGO Star Wars Flash Speeder Box Toy Fair 2015

After over a year of waiting and buildup, Star Wars Celebration Anaheim has come at last! While the event itself won’t begin for a couple hours yet (what with being on the west coast and all), I saved my his-res photos from New York Toy Fair 2015 of one more mass-release LEGO Star Wars Summer 2015 set for discussion while we wait! I’d like to say I saved the most exciting sets for last, but, well… it’s not. Even so, the LEGO 75091 Flash Speeder is the first time the vehicle has gotten an upgrade in a full 15 years!

Summer 2015 LEGO Star Wars General Grievous & Obi-Wan Figures!

LEGO Star Wars General Grievous Buildable Figure Summer 2015 Sets

There’s still a ban by Disney on what Star Wars The Force Awakens toys can be shown off by merchandisers (re: none), but that’s not going to stop LEGO from revealing some all-new, never-before-seen LEGO Star Wars Summer 2015 sets this week in honor of Star Wars Celebration Anaheim! And the first of this week’s festive reveals are a pair of sets sure to be divisive among fans: the LEGO Star Wars General Grievous and Obi-Wan Kenobi buildable figure sets!

What with Star Wars Celebration Anaheim coming up in just two days and May the 4th nearly upon us, I’m feeling pretty Star Wars-y this week!

And so, let’s journey back to a galaxy far, far away and discuss one of the sets I looked past in my initial New York Toy Fair 2015 coverage: the LEGO Star Wars Naboo Starfighter 75092! It’s definitely new… but is it improved?

Now that I’ve completed writing up articles filled with all the news and photos of the LEGO Scooby-Doo, Jurassic World and Legends of Chima sets, I can move on and give some other popular themes the attention that their Summer 2015 sets richly deserve! First, we’ll travel back into the world of Minecraft, which is expanding with another four sets this summer. And we’ll begin with the set that–despite being in prototype form–caught my eye the most: the fiery LEGO Minecraft Nether Fortress 21122 set!

LEGO Dimensions Legolas Gollum & Gimli Sets Preview!

LEGO Dimensions Lord of the Rings Gollum Fun Pack 71218

It was less than a month ago that I was in mourning for the LEGO Lord of the Rings theme, as I lamented the release of what was expected to be the final two Lord of the Rings minifigures: the Bard and Bain figures included with the Target exclusive Hobbit Battle of Five Armies Blu-Ray release. But things have unexpectedly changed since last month in a big way with the announcement of the dimension-hopping LEGO Dimensions video game. And as part of the first wave of expansion packs, Lord of the Rings returns: it’s the LEGO Dimensions Gollum, Gimli and Legolas sets!

LEGO Dimensions Ninjago Team Pack & Nya Revealed!

LEGO Dimensions Ninjago Team Pack 71207

Of the six themes brought together for the first wave of LEGO Dimensions sets, there’s only one that hasn’t had its own theatrical movie released to its name: Ninjago. Even so, LEGO has big plans for Ninjago (including a theatrical movie!), and part of their plan to get everyone’s favorite ninjas into the public eye must be associating them with iconic characters like Batman, Gandalf and Marty McFly! And you can start preparing to send your ninjas up against Gollum and the Wicked Witch now, because the LEGO Dimension Ninjago sets are now available for order!

LEGO Dimensions Back to the Future Level Pack Revealed!

LEGO Dimensions Back to the Future Level Pack 71201

Of the themes chosen for the first series of LEGO Dimensions sets, the one generating the most excitement is definitely the inaugural Wizard of Oz set. But some other sets are no slouches in the anticipation department either, and the next most buzz-worthy set brings us back once again… to the future! For the first time ever, a LEGO Back to the Future set will be available outside of the Ideas theme, and you can lock yours in now: the LEGO Dimensions Back to the Future Level Pack 71201 is now up for order!

It’s been a pretty slow news month thus far, but it turns out that it was just the calm before the storm! Rather than allowing us all to fall into complacency, LEGO has now dropped a cubic mother-lode of news on us, with all of the just-announced LEGO Dimensions sets (including the Starter Pack, Team Sets, Hero Packs, Level Pack and Fun Packs)! But of the sixteen sets announced, there’s no question which is the most exciting and will be the hot one of the first wave–and now you can reserve it: the LEGO Wizard of Oz Fun Pack with Wicked Witch minifigure is now up for order!

LEGO has been counting down toward something really big happening, and now we know exactly what it is–a brand-new video game franchise: LEGO Dimensions! LEGO must have figured, “Why should Nintendo Amiibo, Skylanders and Disney Infinity make all the money in this genre?”, because a full assortment of LEGO Dimensions toys-to-life video game sets has now been announced for fall 2015!

LEGO Chima Mammoth’s Frozen Stronghold Summer 2015 Set!

LEGO Chima Summer 2015 Sets Mammoth's Frozen Stronghold

I’ve been talking about the LEGO Legends of Chima theme since months before the first sets were released, so it feels weird knowing this is the last time I’ll ever talk about an upcoming Chima set again (barring some unforeseen miracle resurrection for theme). I previously discussed the other two summer Chima sets that I saw at the New York Toy Fair 2015, and now it’s time to move on to the last of the trio (and Chima itself): the LEGO Chima Mammoth’s Frozen Stronghold 70226 set!

LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Mansion 75904 Photos Preview!

75904 LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Mansion Set

Over the last two weeks, I’ve gone back and redone my coverage of all of the LEGO Scooby-Doo sets that we only saw low-res, grainy images of when the sets leaked prior to the New York Toy Fair 2015. And today, I’m capping it all off with what is by far the largest, most elaborate and more expensive set in the theme: the LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Mansion 75904! It’s true that this set is required if you want a Velma minifigure to complete your Scooby-Doo Detective Agency, but this set has so, so much more to offer besides just Velma…

LEGO Mystery Machine Escape 75902 Summer 2015 Set

As it turns out, I’m still getting more requests for super-sized hi-res images of the Summer 2015 LEGO Scooby-Doo sets shown at the New York Toy Fair 2015 than anything else, so I’m going to close out this week with updated coverage of the first two sets that we saw sneak peeks of! And when you talk about “iconic” and “Scooby-Doo”, there’s one vehicle that springs into everyone’s mind–and it’s coming in LEGO form this summer! The LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine 75902 is on the way, and it looks Scooby-licious!

Following up on the in-depth look at the LEGO Scooby-Doo Haunted Lighthouse 75903 set from yesterday, today I’m going to take a look at another one of Summer 2015 Scooby-Doo sets that I previously only took a cursory glance at. While it’s the second-smallest set in the theme, it’s still pretty packed with fun and wackiness: it’s the LEGO Scooby-Doo Mystery Plane Adventures 75901 set!
