2014 LEGO Chima Lavertus’ Outland Base 70134 Set Photos Preview!

It may be Christmas Eve and just one week from the launch of the majority of the winter LEGO 2014 sets, but to my surprise, there are still just-revealed LEGO Chima 2014 sets to talk about! Earlier today I talked about Spinlyn’s Cavern, and now it’s time to talk about the other one of the new sets–2014 LEGO Legends of Chima Lavertus’ Outland Base 70134!

The final LEGO Legends of Chima 2014 set I have to discuss is one I had no idea even existed until LEGO revealed it today–the LEGO 70134 Lavertus’ Outland Base! The set isn’t perfect, but it’s definitely one of the most fun and unique “gatehouse” type of playsets that I’ve ever seen.

On the plus side, Lavertus’ Outland Base clocks in at an impressive 684 pieces and is the single largest one of the new 2014 Legends of Chima sets. The Lavertus Outland Base Lion Tribe playset itself is fairly large and sprawling, and would make an awesome complement to the Chima Lion CHI Temple set. Also, the Spider Tribe ATV vehicle included is surprisingly fun and eccentric looking.

I never like store exclusive sets to include exclusive Minifigures, but it’s also a bit annoying that a set that will likely cost $69.99-$79.99 doesn’t come with any new or exclusive LEGO minifigs.

The LEGO Legends of Chima Lavertus’ Outland Base 70134 set is expected to be released in January 2014. I’ll update when I hear the official retail chain that will be carrying this LEGO 70134 set, as well as the price for the set. That ought to happen very soon, as this set is expected to hit stores as soon as next month! And you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have LEGO news, photos and updates sent straight to your Facebook Newsfeed!

Despite not including any new Chima Minifigures, is the 70134 LEGO Lavertus Outland Base playset cool enough to earn itself a spot in your personal LEGO Legends of Chima world?
