LEGO Batman 2014 The Joker Steam Roller 76013 Revealed & Photos!

It took a little bit longer than I was expecting it to, but images of the last of the four LEGO Batman 2014 sets have finally made their appearance online! I wasn’t particularly looking forward to the LEGO 76013 Batman: The Joker Steam Roller set when it was first rumored, but little by little it won me over as various minifigures in the set leaked out. Even so, I thought that LEGO The Joker Steam Roller 76013 was going to be an easy pass for me–until I saw hi-res images today and discovered a LEGO Batman minifigure I just can’t live without…

2014 LEGO Batman The Joker Steam Roller 76013 BoxYou never know where you’re going to get hot new LEGO news from these days, but it turns out today that it was coming from The Netherlands! The Dutch website Bol.com revealed a plethora of new LEGO 2014 sets today, and among those sets to debut was the LEGO Batman: The Joker Steam Roller 76013.

When I first heard that there was another LEGO Joker set coming out, I groaned pretty audibly. “Another Joker set?!” But then some of the minifigures leaked out onto ebay early, and I discovered that the set was going to include a way-cool New 52 LEGO Batgirl minifigure and an all-new and all-awesome classic Batman movies-inspired Joker minifigure. I love the modern Batgirl New 52 costume and the Jack Nicholson lookalike Joker minifigure, so I was already warming up to this set before I even saw what else was in it.

I knew that a Robin minifigure was included with the set from earlier low-quality, leaked photos, but I was not at all aware at that time that LEGO was giving us an all-new LEGO Superheroes Robin figure. And not just any Robin iteration, either–Bruce Wayne’s own son, Damian Wayne!

I am well and truly stunned to see LEGO include a Robin Damian Wayne figure in this set, as the young boy met a rather grisly and horrifying end earlier this year in the DC New 52 Batman comics. “Yes, kids, now you too can own a little LEGO Damian Wayne Robin minifigure and recreate the brutal murder of Bruce Wayne’s 10-year-old son!” Crazy stuff, but I love the Damian Wayne Robin, so I’m more than psyched to have him.

The LEGO 76013 set also includes a classic black LEGO Batman minifigure (again, he looks like a 1989 Batman movie Batman to match the Jack Nicholson Joker) and a new Joker Henchman minifigure. There’s a little Batjet for Batman to ride in which looks pretty underwhelming, but the actual LEGO Joker Steam Roller itself looks like oodles of fun. The Joker’s Steam Roller is bright, gaudy, and utterly ridiculous. In short–it’s perfect!

The LEGO Superheroes Batman: The Joker Steam Roller 76013 set is part of the Winter 2014 LEGO DC Superheros wave, and should be available in stores by January 1 2014. I’ll update the Bricks and Bloks Facebook page when (not if) this set turns up for sale early, and you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have more LEGO news, photos and updates beamed straight to your Facebook Newsfeed.

How do you like the final revealed LEGO Batman 2014 set, the Joker’s Steam Roller 76013, LEGO fans? Will you be adding this set to your collection and recreating Damian Wayne’s tragic demise, or is this set just not your thing?
