LEGO Gingerbread House 40139 Holiday Promo Set!

While this year’s LEGO Winter Toy Shop 10249 set didn’t exactly knock the socks off of the many collectors who own the original Winter Village Toy Shop, TLG has really come through for fans with the rest of their holiday 2015 sets! Not only do we have another trio of terrific Advent Calendars available, as well as the upcoming Holiday Train promo and a pair of just-announced Seasonal sets, but now we have confirmation of the second holiday promo set that’s been rumored since last year: the 40139 LEGO Gingerbread House set has now been revealed, and will be available for Brick Friday 2015!

LEGO Gingerbread House 40139

TLG has been a mite slow to post the monthly store calendar for the past couple of months, so it totally blew my mind when I saw last night that the November 2015 LEGO Store Calendar had been uploaded almost a whole a week early!

I’ll talk about the various events and news items on the calendar itself a bit later on, but for now I’m going to focus on the big reveal from the calendar that’s going to excite 99.9% of collectors more than anything else on the November calendar: free exclusive LEGO Gingerbread House 40139 promo set!

LEGO Holiday Train Exclusive Promo 2015The 40139 Gingerbread House is the second (and final) of the two LEGO 2015 Holiday Promo sets. The first of the two promo sets is, of course, the super-cool Holiday Train 40138 set that will be available from October 13, 2015 until November 13, 2015 (or while supplies last–which is likely to be way before 11/13/2015) with a purchase of $99 or more.

The Gingerbread House free promo set will likewise be available with a purchase of $99 or more, but will only be available for a few days (or maybe one day, depending how hard LEGO Stores get hit on Black Friday). If you want this set (and I certainly do), I would advise you to brave your local store (or shop online!) as soon as you can on Brick Friday–with the amount of money parents are spending at the LEGO Store these days, this free set is going to be gone quickly.

To say that I’m impressed with the exclusive Gingerbread House set would be a major understatement. I don’t just “like” it–I love it! While there are no “new” pieces that comprise this set (as far as I can tell–correct me if I’m wrong, brick fans), all of the preexisting pieces used in this set are used to great effect.

The Gingerbread House promo set is mainly comprised of light brown “brick” bricks, with a mixture of translucent and opaque circles as “gumdrops” on the roof, swirled “peppermint” discs on the windows, and pink and brown “cupcakes” lining the walkway to the front door. There’s even a red-and-green peppermint stick-themed mailbox out front and peppermint stick pillars holding up the archway!

LEGO 40139 Gingerbread House Holiday Promo SetThis 40139 Gingerbread House LEGO set is so, so unbelievably cute. It totally rocks my holiday brick-building world, and is going to look sensational when placed as part of the existing series of Winter Village sets. The fact that we get this set for “free” (when we buy a hundred dollars in other stuff, mind you) is downright amazing, as I’d happily pay $15-$20 for this set if it was sold as a standalone. Well-done, TLG! Well-done!

What do you think of the Holiday Gingerbread House free promo set, brick fans? Will you be busting down the doors at your local LEGO Store on Brick Friday 2015 to claim one of these exclusive sets for yourself, or are you not impressed enough with this set for TLG to earn your hundred dollars?

  1. I’m trying to figure out how I can justify (to my wife) spending $200 on Lego to get both of these promotions! Last year in my Winter Village Layout, I used ‘Santa’s Workshop’ as one of those buildings you might take your kid for a photo with Santa. This Gingerbread House and Train will complete that themed area of my village.

  2. Hmmmm, I am going to have to do some figuring out if I want to make purchases on Double Points days in October, or spread things out across two holiday promotions. Lego sure knows how to make purchasing decisions difficult!

However, that being said, I agree–this is very cute!
