LEGO Thanksgiving Feast 40123 Seasonal Set Revealed!

Yesterday we reported that the 2015 LEGO Seasonal Halloween Trick-or-Treating 40122 set had been discovered early, and hot on the heels of that seasonal set reveal comes another one for the next big holiday after Halloween! I hope you like turkey (I don’t), because the LEGO Thanksgiving Feast 40123 seasonal set has also now been revealed!

40123 LEGO Thanksgiving Feast Seasonal Set

Given that TLG hasn’t even officially unveiled the 40122 Trick or Treating set yet and we only learned about that set by an early accidental release, I figured it’d be a few more weeks before any more seasonal holiday sets were discovered.

But nope–I guess that when it rains holiday vignettes, it pours holiday vignettes! One of the collectors who purchased the LEGO 40122 Seasonal Set early (at a LEGO Store in Dallas, Texas) took a photograph of one of the pages in the instruction book and uploaded it, thus giving us this first glance at the Holiday Thanksgiving Seasonal Set for 2015!

LEGO Thanksgiving Dinner Vignette Diorama 40123Basically, this set depicts an older couple–probably one that lives in the country, on or near the farm, based on the box art–sitting down to enjoy an elegant Thanksgiving Dinner together.

The set includes a rolling cart with a cooked turkey, giant red apple (I assume cranberry sauce is what LEGO has in mind here), and a cream pie on the bottom shelf. The table also has what I think is meant to be a brick-built pumpkin on it, as well as a translucent green bottle (probably sparkling cider). There’s also some jars on the shelf that are translucent blue and orange–let’s say blueberry jam and marmalade, perhaps?

Having been a vegetarian for 25 years, the cooked turkey with what look to be removable drumsticks kind of freaks me out (especially since the cooked turkey is spotlighted on the top of the box instead of either of the included minifigures), but I love the elderly Grandma and Grandpa Minifigures and their festive holiday dinner setting.

Also, the minifigure couple in this set feels oddly familiar to me, perhaps because this vignette is so similar to the Valentine’s Day 40120 set released earlier in 2015? As weird as it sounds, I wonder if we’re perhaps following this couple through their life cycle? (Yeah, I’m probably reading too much into it, huh?)

The one image of this set that’s available doesn’t give us the piece count, but all of this year’s limited-edition seasonal sets have been strong values, and I don’t expect the 40123 Thanksgiving Feast set to be an exception. And really, at $9.99 for two Minifigures and a mini-diorama, how can you go wrong…?

40123 Thanksgiving Feast LEGO Seasonal Set Box 2015The LEGO Seasonal a Thanksgiving Feast 40123 set will be available exclusively on the online LEGO Shop and in branded LEGO Stores on October 1st, 2015. That said, if the Halloween set is any indication, we very likely will see some quantities of this set sneaking into the official stores a bit earlier than 10/1/15. Keep your eyes peeled, readers!

How does the Thanksgiving 2015 set hold up to the rest of this year’s seasonal vignettes, brick fans? Will this set become part of your harvest season decor this year, or is it not compelling enough to earn your $9.99?

  1. I really enjoy these sets. The first two (Valentine and Easter) had some great pieces too, most notably the masonry bricks. I like these much better than the holiday animals they did last year.

  2. Grandma may want to hold off on eating the turkey…looks like George Lucas cooked it.

  3. Love this one as well. These really make great gifts for some in my family who like Legos, but simply don’t have the time to build a larger set and/or don’t have the display room for a larger set. These are also more “adult-ish” as opposed to the Turkey or Pumpkin holiday sets from the past. And, you can’t beat the price!
