I know that there have been a lot of complaints about the LEGO Simpsons theme, and I totally understand any LEGO fans out there who feel put off by the sometimes-crude, often-inappropriate humor of the Simpsons TV Show. That said, I think that the show has a good heart and–at the end of the day–always tries to deliver a sort of moral lesson (except in the Treehouse of Horror specials, which are pure lunacy–but that’s neither here nor there).

Regardless, while it will never top the list of most wholesome cartoons ever made, The Simpsons has aired for over 25 years and is the most iconic TV cartoon series ever made. If that doesn’t warrant one LEGO set and a batch of minifigures, I don’t know what does.

And luckily, that one LEGO set is an absolute masterpiece. There’s not a whole lot I can say about the LEGO Simpsons house that I didn’t already say in my official preview of the set. So let me just say that I think this set is awesome, and definitely one of the coolest LEGO buildings ever made for any licensed theme, ever.

The modular design of the house, the way that the Simpsons House LEGO set comes apart allowing easy access to each room, the authentic attention to detail of this set… it’s just amazing. If you’re a big Simpsons fan, this is the set you’ve been waiting for all your life (even if you didn’t know it at at the time).

The LEGO The Simpsons House 71006 set is now available for order online for LEGO VIP members exclusively until February 1st, 2014. If you’re not a LEGO VIP Member yet, you can pick up a card at your local LEGO Store or even request one online. It’s a free membership and you get a minimum of $5 LEGO Store credit for every $100 you spend, so it’s easily one of the best loyalty cards out there.
