LEGO Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart 71016 Set Confirmed & Photo!

For around half a year now, rumors have been circulating regarding a second large LEGO The Simpsons set to be released: a prospective LEGO Kwik-E-Mart set. As time has gone on, the number of rumors about this set increased, and then it appeared on a leaked list of 2015 LEGO Store exclusive sets. Even so, we couldn’t ultimately confirm the existence of a LEGO The Kwik-E-Mart set–until now! Thanks to the first image leaking online, the LEGO Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart 71016 set has now been confirmed!

With the LEGO 71016 Kwik-E-Mart set rumored to go up for sale for LEGO VIP Members in the second half of April 2015, I knew it was only a matter of time until we’d see the Kwik-E-Mart make its debut for the very first time. And thanks to Instagram user lego_sid, the very first photo of the LEGO Simpsons The Kwik-E-Mart 71016 set has now appeared online!

This partial box art for the Simpsons LEGO Kwik-E-Mart set confirm four of the minifigures that will be included with the set: Apu, Marge Simpson, Chief Wiggum and Snake. Now, including another LEGO Apu minifigure in this set was obviously a prerequisite for it, but it’s definitely disappointing to see other LEGO Simpsons figures getting repacked already when there are so many characters that still need figures.

That said, I am pretty excited for the first-ever LEGO Snake minifigure! I hope that LEGO keeps the Snake figure as an exclusive for this set, because I think that the lack of exclusive minifigs in last year’s Simpsons House 71006 set really hurt that set overall.

The Kwik-E-Mart set also includes a dumpster on the side of the Kwik E Mart, and a LEGO Springfield Police Car for Chief Wiggum to drive. I sure wish that a different Springfield Police Officer (such as Lou or Ed) was included here instead of another Chief Wiggum, though!

I’ll post an update once the complete details of LEGO 71016 are revealed (which ought to be within the next couple of weeks), and you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have news, photos and updates beamed right to your Newsfeed!

Obviously we can’t see any of the interior details of the Kwik-E-Mart, the number or identities of the new LEGO Simpsons minifigures included, the piece count or even the price.   2. That red sign seen from the window appears to be a Duff Beer logo. Which is strange as that’s the reason characters like Moe, Barney, and Duffman, not to mention a Moe’s Tavern set were allegedly not going to be released. However, it could just be the similar Buzz Cola logo. I was also hoping to see Principal Skinner, Jimbo, Dolph, and Kearney minifigures released in this set. I hope that there are other exclusives to this set, and that in future Simpson sets, they include exclusive figures, or at least variant figures instead of placing exactly the same figures from the Minifigure packs. Overall, I’m very excited for this set, and can’t wait to see the official release of this, as well as series 2 of the Simpsons Minifigure packs.

    • I really think it’s buzz cola sign. they should have made skinner before releasing variants of the main family.

  3. Nice set, really looking forward to it. Day 1 purchase. But, too bad the iconic sign is mostly made of stickers 🙁

  4. I can’t tell yet whether or not Wiggum and Marge have on variations to their wave one attire but I’m glad to see that Apu is wearing his work attire. Snake is a nice addition! I hope he’s not included in the blind bags since he is in this set. Fingers crossed that’s Cletus’ hair that got leaked with the wave 2 blind bags instead of Snake. Or who knows, maybe the hair mold that was leaked was for this set? So many possibilities!

    Any idea when we might get a line-up for wave 2?

    • I would expect that we’ll hear about the figures that will make up the LEGO Simpsons Series 2 blind bags by the end of next month. 🙂

  5. If you look at the right corner of the box, it looks a bit like the tip of homer’s head! Maybe this is a 5 figure set?
