LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village 10236 Exclusive Set for 2013 Confirmed!

It’s been rumored and speculated about all year long, and when LEGO set rumors are repeated with as much consistency and confidence as this one, they often turn out to be true. And in this case, the rumor is true, and the dream has become a reality: a giant 10236 LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village set is coming our way in 2013! Yub Nub!!

Endor Celebration Screenshot at the Ewok VillageThe LEGO Ewok Village 10236 is going to be exclusive to official LEGO Stores and the online LEGO Shop, and will retail for a scary €249.99 (likely $250+ in the United States). Here’s what we expect the set to be like…

Star Wars Ewok Village Playset Vintage Kenner SetThe Star Wars Ewok Village from Return of the Jedi is no stranger to toys. A vintage Kenner Ewok Village playset was released almost thirty years ago (although Hasbro hasn’t ever released the Ewok Village in the modern Star Wars toys line). While the 2013 LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village is obviously going to be larger and very different from the vintage Ewok village, looking at the Kenner Ewok Village gives us some idea of the sorts of things we can probably expect with the 10236 LEGO Ewok Village set.

Star Wars Ewok Village at NightFor the monumental price of $250+ that the LEGO Ewok Village is going to cost, I’d like to think that the set will contain at least three giant trees as the centerpieces of the set. We’re all but guaranteed two giant trees with the set so that they can have the rope bridge connecting the trees where Luke Skywalker tells Princess Leia that she’s his sister, but four giant trees would be absolutely ideal.

Ewoks Prepare Han Solo for Roasting at the Endor FeastThere will also likely be some vines connected to the bridge and/or trees for the Ewoks to travel around on, as well as some sort of apparatus that the LEGO Ewoks can use to roast Han Solo and Luke Skywalker alive.

Ewok Village Leia with Braided Hair and DressThe only thing we know for certain about the exclusive Ewok Village LEGO set is that it will contain a new LEGO Endor Princess Leia Organa minifigure, wearing her Ewok Village dress and with long, braided hair from the LEGO Minifigures Series 9 Forest Maiden minifigure. This was revealed in the LEGO Minifigure Encyclopedia book that was released earlier this month.

C-3PO on his Throne as a Deity in the Ewok VillageThe Ewoks worship C-3PO as their deity, and I would be astonished if LEGO doesn’t include a LEGO C-3PO minifigure with his throne as part of this LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village 10236 set. Perhaps with some sort of “levitating” action feature? I guess we’ll see.

LEGO Star Wars Battle of Endor 8038 Set BoxThe worst-case scenario for the LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village is that it ends up having a bunch of rehashed elements that don’t belong in the set, such as an Imperial AT-ST or Speeder Bike. Those vehicles were seen in action at the Battle of Endor, but never at the Ewok Village itself. Considering we just got a LEGO Battle of Endor set a few years ago, I’d hate to see this set wasted borrowing elements from that one.

LEGO Ewoks Minifigures Wicket Chief Chirpa PaplooThis may shock some LEGO Star Wars fans, but LEGO has only released five specific Ewok minifigures over the years: Wicket, Logray, Chief Chirpa, Paploo, and Tokkat. I would be very disappointed if we didn’t get some new LEGO Ewoks minifigures with this humongous set, especially since four of the eight Ewoks released in the vintage Kenner Return of the Jedi action figure line have never been done in LEGO form. Teebo, Warok, Romba, and Lumat would all be good choices to include as part of the LEGO 10236 Ewok Village to really fill in the ranks of our LEGO Ewok minifigures collection.

Star Wars Return of the Jedi Ewok Village ScreenshotThe LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village 10236 is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2013. I’ll post with more details on the set as they’re revealed by LEGO. And if you want to receive LEGO news and updates direct to your Facebook Newsfeed, you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook!

  1. Wow, this looks like an awesome set! The Star Wars sets are already more expensive since they are licensed, but this looks like a really cool one — finally, a big set that’s not a spaceship.
