LEGO Star Wars Sith Infiltrator 75096 Photo Revealed!

Catching up on some news that’s slightly less-than-fresh, an image of the final prequel LEGO Star Wars 2015 set was leaked out earlier this week! It’s far from a vehicle we’ve never seen before, but it’s definitely the most expensive version of this starship yet: it’s the LEGO Sith Infiltrator 75096!

75096 LEGO Star Wars Sith Infiltrator Summer 2015 Set

For a ship that literally does nothing on-screen, the Darth Maul Sith Infiltrator sure does get a lot of toys! In fact, this is the sixth time a LEGO Sith Infiltrator is released! Zoinks!! But on the bright side, this looks to be the nicest version of the Sith Infiltrator released yet, with 660 pieces making up the set–a huge increase over the 479 pieces of the 7961 Sith Infiltrator released in 2011.

The 75096 Sith Infiltrator set will include four Minifigures and three prequel-era probe droids. The Minifigures are a bit of a weird assortment, though, as three of the four characters never even saw the Sith Infiltrator ship: Watto, kid Anakin Skywalker and Qui-Gon Jinn.

While we haven’t had a Watto Minifigure released in a couple years, the other three figures in this set are really common. In fact, there’s another child Anakin Skywalker minifigure in circulation that just came out this summer with the latest Naboo Fighter! And while Jake Lloyd Anakin Skywalker is one of my favorite Star Wars characters (no lie), the figures in this set do feel really rehashed. Darth Maul is always popular and could certainly help sell some copies of this set, but I believe this is the most expensive set he’s ever been released in.

I do like the inclusion of a LEGO Bloodfin Sith Speeder Bike build with this set. While the speeder bike isn’t all that much to look at, it wasn’t exactly incredibly detailed in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace either, so I’m willing to accept it. And hey, you also get a brick separator and a spring-fired missile–those are always nice to have, right…?

The real stunner about this set is the alleged price-point: 99,99 euros (about $109 US) for 660 pieces. Even if the set “only” costs $99.99 in the United States, that’s over 15 cents per piece! A pretty insane “value” for a ship that basically does nothing and only appears for a couple seconds in Episode I. It looks like there’s a decent number of decals included with this set, but for this price, I really feel like there should be only printed bricks and no stickers. But alas.

75096 LEGO Star Wars Sith Infiltrator Summer 2015 SetThe LEGO Star Wars Sith Infiltrator 75096 set is scheduled to be released in August 2015 (although it’s not impossible that the set will be held until the September 4th street date for Episode VII toys). I’ll post an update here and to the Bricks and Bloks Facebook Page once more official images and release details for the set are available.

What do you think of this latest (and hopefully final) iteration of the Sith Infiltrator LEGO set, Star Wars fans? Is this the best version of Darth Maul’s ship yet, and do you think it’s worth its rumored lofty price-tag?

Well, if you’re gullible enough to think Episode 1 was good then maybe you deserve to get fleeced

  2. Wow. I mean. Don’t get me wrong…the new sets are great and the almost or more than $100 ones…. final battle and shuttle tydireium (sp) are amazing….but fuck this. 4 minifigs. 1 is watto? No. No I say.

    • some people like to recreate certain scenes from the films, and it’s cooler to have a ship that appears a lot than a ship that doesn’t appear so much. also, you can’t re-play a lot of scenes that appear on the screen (because there aren’t a lot) . on top of this all, the infiltrator doesn’t have any battle scenes…

  3. I don’t get why Lego is re-designing or simply rehashing so many Star wars sets that aren’t really that old. Seems like a waste of money if I already have the original one. They need to work on newer stuff.

  4. Okay Lego, we got enough Episode I sets for this year. Next thing you should do is try to make new versions of ships that youv’e only made once like 10 or 15 years ago.
