LEGO Chima Flying Phoenix Fire Temple 70146 Photos Preview!

Even though the Winter 2014 LEGO Legends of Chima sets have yet to arrive in stores, LEGO Chima fans now have even more to look forward to! There are incredible things on the horizon for Legends of Chima LEGO fans, including new tribes like the Mammoth Tribe and the fiery Phoenix Tribe! And at this week’s Nuremberg Toy Fair 2014, the all-new and all-amazing LEGO Chima Flying Phoenix Fire Temple 70146 Summer 2014 Set was revealed!

70146 LEGO Chima Flying Phoenix Fire Temple Set Box and Minifigures Toy Fair 2014Everybody knows I am a huge LEGO Legends of Chima fan, but even I have to admit that Chima has lost a bit of steam since its inception last year. That said, LEGO is ready to kick LEGO Chima into a new gear with a totally different flavor and attitude later this year, when the Summer 2014 LEGO Chima sets hit stores! Chima will be leaving the jungle for a prehistoric/mythical setting, and gaining brand new tribes like the Phoenix Tribe, the Mammoth Tribe and the Sabertooth Tiger Tribe!

LEGO Summer 2014 Legends of Chima Flying Phoenix Fire Temple SetThe biggest and most incredible of all the LEGO Legends of Chima 2014 sets made its premiere at the German Nuremberg Toy Fair 2014 this week: the 70146 LEGO Flying Phoenix Fire Temple!

The Flying Phoenix Fire Temple LEGO Chima set just may be the most insanely cool thing LEGO has come up with for the entire Legends of Chima theme thus far. As you might expect from the name, the set is mostly composed of an enormous, fiery, flying phoenix beast that carries the Chima Phoenix Tribe minifigures into battle!

LEGO 70146 Chima Flying Phoenix Fire Temple Summer 2014 SetWhat makes this set really drop jaws, however, is the fact that the huge Flying Phoenix itself transforms into a whole Phoenix Fire Temple playset! This is seriously fun and seriously awesome. Kids–and adult Chima fans like me–are going to absolutely love this set.

LEGO Chima Sabertooth Vehicle from Flying Phoenix Fire Temple 70146The LEGO Chima Saber-tooth Tribe has an intimidating clawed vehicle of their own included with this set, but I would always bet on a giant Flying Phoenix Fire Temple to defeat a wheeled land vehicle with claws (but that’s just me!).

70146 LEGO Chima Flying Phoenix Fire Temple Minifigures Close-UpThe LEGO 70146 Flying Phoenix Fire Temple set will include a mighty seven minifigures: Phoenix Tribe Fluminox, Foltrax, and Flinx Minifigures; Sabertooth Tribe Tormak and Li’ella Minifigures; and also Stealthor and Voom Voom minifigures! This is by far the most unique and exciting lineup of LEGO Chima minifigures ever included with any set, and I honestly don’t know how I’m going to wait half a year to add these Legends of Chima figures to my collection!

The LEGO 70146 Flying Phoenix Fire Temple set contains 1301 pieces and is expected to be released in Summer 2014. I’ll post an update once more information and specifics about this set are available, and you can ‘Like’ Bricks and Bloks on Facebook to have more LEGO photos, news and updates sent straight to your Facebook Newsfeed!

  1. Holy hell! That thing is epic. Yes, must have. This line surprises me…mostly because I dislike the cartoon so much. BUT wow. The sets are great (except that rhino tank monstrocity). I can’t wait for this one.

  2. Sweet. The new tribes look great. I wonder how they will work this into the storyline. Hero Factory is still making do with Nth iterations of existing characters, as is Ninjago. Bionicle gave up on that after a while and started jumping into the past to create a split from the existing gang. So once the original main tribes are done with the forbidden zone and the creepy-crawly tribes that live there, are they going to travel to the icy north, is the story just going to move to the icy north without bringing any old characters along, or is this going to be another jump to the past?

The prerequisite good and bad fliers seem to be in place (phoenix and “v” must mean vulture) Tormax is a tiger, Stealthor looks to be a sabre tooth white tiger. Li’ella looks to use the same head as the other cats, but “L”? Could be lioness or mountain lion?

The fire/ice subtheming is an interesting addition also and nice way to give a different spin from the original tribes. It also makes it much more blatant who the heroes and villains are, viewers of the cartoon will note that even the original “bad” tribes tended to be mostly neutral without the meddling of Crooler. I note that even the chi orbs attached to the front of their armor have fire and ice decos on them, maybe it is not chi at all, or at least not the familiar chi.

  3. Ive sene alle the new sets at the toy fair in Nürnberg. They Are amassing . Especially the fire Phoenix and the mammut Trine. The mammut Trine has a huge mammut in Brown and blue colors an is very very Nice, alle of the new Line is very cool, also the lego technic chima. Martin
