There’s been a wealth of false rumors and misinformation circulating about LEGO Minifigures Series 13 71008, so I’ve been staying silent on the subject until some verifiable proof came along to support claims about the series. Well, over the course of the last few days, that proof has finally arrived!

Thanks to a couple of minifigures shown in the UK LEGO Club Magazine, as well as a leaked photo of the display stand for the series, we can now confirm the authenticity of the actual 71008 LEGO Minifigures Series 13 set coming in winter 2015!

By this point, we all know the drill when it comes to LEGO Minifigures Series. Each series has an “official” release date. But let’s get real–when was the last time that a ton of stores all over the country (including the LEGO Stores themselves) didn’t slip and put boxes out early, leading to loads of people completing their LEGO Minifigures Series before the street date even arrives? Good for LEGO collectors–bad for LEGO street dates. That trend will continue, as the 71007 LEGO Minifigures Series 12 blind bags have now turned up in mass for sale online and in some stores!

LEGO Minifigures Series 12 Fully Revealed Photos!

I’ve long maintained that LEGO Minifigures Series 12 71007 would be fully revealed during San Diego Comic-Con 2014. But while my thought was that LEGO themselves would premiere the LEGO 71007 Minifigures Series 12 at SDCC 2014 themselves, that’s not quite the case. Actually, LEGO didn’t show off the series at the event at all. Instead, mega-retailer Argos leaked images of the set onto the web. Luckily, this isn’t math class, so while my reasoning was wrong, the results are all that matter–and LEGO Minifigures Series 12 looks outstanding!

While I’m on the mailing list for the LEGO Club Magazine that comes out bimonthly, I have to guiltily admit that I oftentimes don’t exactly read it cover to cover. While I’m a voracious reader and I get totally jazzed about the photos and ads for upcoming sets, most of the magazines tend to consist of word finds and comic strips that I’m less than crazy about. But this month… this month is different! I had heard clear photos of another trio of LEGO Minifigures Series 12 71007 figures debuted this month–and my copy of the LEGO Magazine finally arrived today with glimpses of the Piggy Guy, Prospector and Spooky Girl minifigures!

Unlike basically every other line of books on the market, just as many (if not more) people buy each LEGO book released not for the books themselves (many don’t even read them), but for the bonus exclusive LEGO minifigure packaged with the book. Usually the weekends are pretty slow as far as news goes, but on this lovely Saturday the peace has been broken by an earth-shattering photo revealing some of the minifigures from what will be for many the most anticipated release of the entire year! While we’ve had two 2014 LEGO Minifigures Series released already, both of those have been themed (LEGO Movie and LEGO Simpsons).
