LEGO Creator Tiger 30285 Polybag Set Photos Preview!

I love the holidays more than most people, but now that they’re over (although the LEGO Winter Village will be out for a few more weeks), it’s time to catch up on some minor news beats I missed over the last few weeks. And first up is one of the first brand-new polybag sets of 2015. Coming exclusively to Toys R Us stores soon–it’s the LEGO Creator Tiger 30285 set!

Winter 2015 LEGO Creator Tiger 30285 Set

Over the past few years, Target and Toys R Us have really increased their number of exclusive LEGO polybags dramatically. At this point, both stores average over one LEGO exclusive polybag set per month, and it doesn’t look like that trend will be changing in 2015!

Among the first new winter 2015 LEGO polybag sets to be revealed is the Toys R Us exclusive LEGO Tiger 30285 set. Capturing organic creatures in LEGO form is always difficult, and moreso when an animal has to be created in under 100 pieces.

The sabertooth teeth are a mite peculiar, but I appreciate that the tiger has a hinged tail and four swivel legs. It’d be swell if the 30285 Tiger had a hinged jaw, but it doesn’t look like that’s the case from the official photos.

The 30285 LEGO Tiger polybag set is an unusually strong value, as the set contains 73 pieces for just $3.99! That’s an outright amazing value of just over 5 cents per piece! At that price, it’d be downright crazy to pass on this polybag, even if you’re just getting it for extra orange bricks for your own creations!

LEGO Tiger 30285 Set Toys R Us Exclusive PolybagThe LEGO 30285 Tiger set is expected to be released in Toys R Us stores in January/February 2015. I’ll send out an update via the Bricks and Bloks Facebook Page once the set is sighted in stores, and I’ll probably add a review of the set here on the site as well.

How do you like the 30285 LEGO Tiger set, LEGO fans? Is LEGO kicking off the year right with this cuddly creation, or do you feel like LEGO missed the mark with this tiny tiger?

  1. Yes, you are certainly right about the price. Once a set reaches around 5 cents a piece, I have bought them for “scrap”. This one, of course, has pieces that could be used in Halloween creations.
