LEGO Disney Minifigures Series Character List Revealed?

LEGO has been releasing sets and Minifigures for Disney properties such as Star Wars, Marvel and Frozen for years now, so it didn’t surprise me much at all when I heard that a LEGO Disney Minifigures Series 71012 was coming in spring 2016. And while the set hasn’t been officially confirmed yet by TLG, it might as well be now that retailers have leaked the character list, which includes favorites like Mickey Mouse, Aladdin, Lilo & Stitch and more!

LEGO Disney Minifigures Series

Well, here’s some unexpected LEGO news to kick off the day with! Overnight, a Ukrainian retailer website went ahead and posted a list of minifigures appearing in the 71012 LEGO Disney Minifigures Series 1 set!

I never post rumors unless I’m reasonably certain that they’re true, and the circumstances and characters on this LEGO Disney figures series list absolutely ring true to me.

So, take this list of Disney minifigs with a grain of salt until it is officially confirmed by TLG (which likely won’t be until Valentine’s Day weekend and the New York Toy Fair 2016), but I have every confidence that the first series of Disney Minifigures will contain the following:

1. Mickey Mouse

2. Minnie Mouse

3. Donald Duck and Pluto

4. Peter Pan

5. Mulan

6. Genie

7. Aladdin

8. Lilo

9. Stitch

10. Tarzan

11. Jane

12. Captain Hook

13. Jafar

14. Joy

15. Sadness

16. Anger

17. Fear

18. Disgust

I’ve already heard numerous fans speculating that this list is fake because of the inclusion of all five emotions from the “Inside Out” movie and Tarzan and Jane being present. But here’s the thing–I think that those characters lend credence to this leaked list being real more than it does the notion that the list is a fraud.

Inside Out Joy Anger Fear Disgust SadnessAs the last major Disney movie released in theaters (“The Good Dinosaur” was a flop, sorry), of course all five main characters from “Inside Out” would be making an appearance in this Disney Minifigure Series! And as for Tarzan and Jane, well–TLG loves including secondary characters in Minifig Series so that they can stretch out the headliners (yes, Goofy and Daisy Duck, you’re not forgotten) for future waves, and Tarzan & Jane are easy humanoid characters to produce.

As soon as I saw this list, I instantly believed it was authentic, and I’ll stand by it until we hear otherwise from TLG (which I strongly doubt is going to be the case). Leaving out the Disney Princesses (besides Mulan) so that consumers have to buy the Disney Princess minidolls definitely sounds like something would do, and a foreign retailer simply has no motivation for creating a fake list like this.

I’ll post an update here and to the Bricks and Bloks Facebook Page once more details emerge regarding the 2016 LEGO Disney Minifigures Series (and if you’re not already following us on Facebook, I highly recommend it!).

Sound off, Disney fans! Do you think that this supposed leaked list of LEGO 71012 Disney Minifigures Series 1 is legit, or is it a well-crafted fake? And if it is legitimate (and I strongly believe it is), what do you think of TLG’s choices for the inaugural series of Disney Minifigures?

LEGO Disney Minifigures Series Character List Revealed? — 6 Comments

  1. I was hoping to see some beauty and the beast in here. But Lego always seems to forget about that movie.

  2. I was hoping for a Doctor Who minifig series (or two), but I guess there’s time for that in the future. I won’t go crazy trying to ge the whole set, but it’ll be fun to have some.

  3. I hope we get some non-minidoll Disney sets, too. That’s the only way I can think of to get characters from animal only Disney and Pixar movies (Lion King, Finding Nemo, etc.) and big figure versions of characters (Sulley, Wreck-It Ralph, etc.). I hope that similar to how in series 2 of the Simpsons had Santa’s Little Helper and Snowball II included with Maggie and Lisa respectively, some of the Disney characters will have smaller characters, too. (Think Mushu with Mulan, Tinkerbell with Peter Pan, Abu with Aladdin, and Iago with Jafar.) This is supported by the rumor that Pluto will come with Donald. I’m very excited, if not a bit suspicious of the 18 characters count instead of the usual 16, though.
