NYCC 2015: Star Trek Mega Bloks Revealed! USS Enterprise!

While LEGO almost unilaterally wins the battle for all the best licenses, there are still some legendary brands that they’ve never had, and one of them is Star Trek. Kre-O Star Trek was an indisputable flop, but MEGA Brands thinks they can do better with the license. And at New York Toy Fair 2015, the Star Trek Mega Bloks Enterprise, Transporter Room, Klingon Bird of Prey and figures made their grand debut!

NYCC 2015: LEGO Booth Photos! LEGO Nexo Knights Sets!

When we got to the week of New York Comic Con 2015 and LEGO still hadn’t announced any of their plans for the NYCC LEGO Booth, I had my suspicions that they were planning to spotlight an upcoming LEGO 2016 theme (as they did with Bionicle last year). And as it turns out, those feelings proved true! I got to take two-dozen firsthand today of the 2016 LEGO Nexo Knights sets revealed at NYCC 2015!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mega Bloks Figures Revealed

MEGA Brands shocked the brick-collecting world at the New York Toy Fair 2015, when they quietly announced that they had acquired the license to produce Mega Bloks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles construction sets and figures. Yes, that’s right, for one it is MEGA Brands who snatched a license away from LEGO and not the other way around! Crazy, right? Anyway, it’s been a long eight months since the stunning announcements, but at last the first image of the TMNT Mega Bloks figures has been revealed! Are you impressed, brick fans?

November 2015 LEGO Store Calendar Free Promos & Events

November 2015 LEGO Store Calendar

About a week and a half, TLG stunned the brick-collecting world by posting the November 2015 LEGO Store calendar way, way early. Because of this, we got our first look at the gorgeous second 2015 Holiday promo set a bit earlier: the Gingerbread House.

While I already posted an entire write-up of the LEGO Gingerbread House 40139 back then, it occurs to me now that I never talked about the LEGO Store November 2015 calendar itself! And so, let’s step back for a minute and see what TLG has lined up for us next month…

LEGO Dimensions Video Game First Impressions Review!

LEGO Batman Gandalf Wyldstyle Minifigures in Simpsons Living Room Screenshot

I have a confession to make: as slow as I am at building actual LEGO sets (it takes me well over 5 hours to build a 500 piece set), I’m orders of magnitude slower at playing through video games! How slow, you ask…? Well, let’s just say that I’ve still never completed the LEGO Marvel or Harry Potter Year 1-4 video games, much less opened LEGO Batman 3 or Dimensions. So even though I spent over $200 on LEGO Dimensions video game toys this week, I still had no clue how the game actually was.

Luckily, my dear friend Dave M. has been kind enough to step in and give me (and all of you!) his first impressions of the video game based off his first 8 hours of gameplay…

LEGO Dimensions Sets Released & Store Display Photos!

Toys R Us LEGO Dimensions Sets Released

After the calamity that occurred last year for kids and collectors trying to collect the first wave of Nintendo Amiibo figures, I was really afraid of huge shortages for the LEGO Dimensions launch.

And so, even though I ordered all my LEGO Dimensions sets online, I went to see how well-stocked (or not) my closest video game retailers were this morning. And as it turns out, the answer is “pretty well-stocked”!

2015 LEGO Winter Toy Shop 10249 Box

UPDATE: The LEGO Winter Toy Shop 10249 is now available for order online! Make sure you log into your VIP account so that you can see it in the shop!

ORIGINAL: Seeing as how I’ve written a LEGO news site for the past 4 years, it’s pretty obvious that I love LEGO. But every once in a while, despite that adoration, they do something that really irks me. And unfortunately, that time has come again. Anticipation has turned to massive disappointment, as the sole 2015 LEGO Winter Village set has been officially revealed to be… a near-identical refresh of the 10199 Winter Toy Shop from five years ago?!
