Despite the fact that work scheduling conflicts have prevented us from attending it more than a whopping one time, Star Wars Celebration is probably my personal favorite convention. I badly wanted to attend Star Wars Celebration Anaheim this month, but it just was not to be. I’ve been seething with jealousy over missing the Funko Star Wars exclusives for the past week, and now I’ve got one more reason to be envious: a brand new mini Star Wars Celebration Anaheim Exclusive LEGO Tatooine set has now been revealed!

Ordinarily I like to wait for LEGO to post the super hi-res LEGO Store Calendars for the next month before I talk about what’s coming up at the LEGO Stores, but I ended up getting burned by that last month when they didn’t post the next month’s calendar for many days after it was already available in stores (and I ended up going and picking up the calendar myself to scan). So this month, I’m going to talk about the upcoming deals, promos and events first, and add the hi-res images later. And the May 2015 LEGO Store Calendar is a good one, including the happenings for May the 4th 2015 and more!

But one vehicle that I’ve never previously owned before finally claimed me for the first time this month. I ordered the new LEGO T-16 Skyhopper set as soon as it went up for order specifically because I wanted the new Tusken Raider–but to my surprise, I really like the ship itself! Is the LEGO Star Wars T-16 Skyhopper 75081 set one of the most underrated LEGO 2015 sets?

A lot of the time, I skip writing reviews for LEGO free promo polybag sets. They’re not composed of many pieces, there’s not much build to speak of, and there’s not much point to reviewing something that people aren’t going to pay any money for anyway. But the January 2015 LEGO AT-DP polybag is a little bit different, because even though it was originally “free”, it sold out from the LEGO Shop in two days, and now collectors have to pay ~$12 to get the 30274 LEGO AT-DP on the aftermarket. For free this set got an unquestionable recommendation, but what about if you have to pay for it…?

In case you’ve been in a self-imposed media blackout for the last two years, you may not have heard, but there’s this movie coming out in December 2015: Star Wars The Force Awakens (AKA Star Wars Episode VII). As you might imagine, it’s a pretty big deal. And as such, I don’t think anyone will be surprised to hear LEGO is planning a whole LEGO Star Wars Episode VII line of sets. But you may be surprised to hear that the Summer 2015 LEGO Star Wars sets will be split into two months–with the LEGO Episode VII sets releasing on a true holiday: my birthday!
