Ordinarily I like to wait for LEGO to post the super hi-res LEGO Store Calendars for the next month before I talk about what’s coming up at the LEGO Stores, but I ended up getting burned by that last month when they didn’t post the next month’s calendar for many days after it was already available in stores (and I ended up going and picking up the calendar myself to scan). So this month, I’m going to talk about the upcoming deals, promos and events first, and add the hi-res images later. And the May 2015 LEGO Store Calendar is a good one, including the happenings for May the 4th 2015 and more!

The biggest event in May 2015 is also one of the most-anticipated events of the entire year at the LEGO Stores: May the 4th weekend! Sometimes May the 4th begins on a Friday, but this year it’ll begin on Saturday, May 2nd and continue until Monday, May 4th. There will be a number of undisclosed deals on LEGO Star Wars sets during this time period, although it’s not known yet what those offers will be or how good they’ll be (traditionally they have not been the best).

As usual, however, there will be an all-new, exclusive minifigure available during the weekend with a $75 purchase, and this year it’s the Admiral Yularen minifigure! This isn’t exactly a surprise (at all), as we first heard that the Wulff Yularen minifigure would be available way back in December 2014.

I don’t know that Admiral Yularen is the kind of character that fans have been clamoring for (nor do I know that he was actually an Admiral during the period the figure is based off of), but hey–who can say ‘no’ to a free and exclusive LEGO Star Wars minifigure?

In addition to the exclusive Yularen minifig, a set that debuted last month at the New York Toy Fair 2015 is also due to be released on May 2nd: the UCS 75095 TIE Fighter! I’m not a plain TIE Fighter kind of guy, but I know that there are legions of fans out there who will be busting down the doors on May 2nd to get their hands on this set.

Star Wars isn’t the only theme getting love in May 2015, though! There’s also the public release of the much-loved LEGO Kwik-E-Mart set and the Simpsons Minifigures Series 2 blind bags set release, both on May 1st 2015 (it’s gonna be an expensive month).

But that’s not all…! We’re also going to have the Mini Monthly Model Build Koala Bear on May 5th (cute, though not nearly as innovative as some of the other recent sets), as well as a free Spider-Man Super-Jumper set (including a Spider-Man minifigure, a small robot drone and a Super-Jumper accessory) with any purchase of $50 or more.

And from May 13th-30th, 2015, VIPs will get early access to another exclusive set! Hmmm… what could that be?
