I know a lot of LEGO collectors (including me) are feeling pretty burned by the quartet of LEGO Superheroes Minifigures that are ultra-limited San Diego Comic Con 2013 exclusives this week. Well, prepare to feel just a little bit more anger/jealousy, because in addition to those LEGO minifigures being given out at SDCC 2013, there are two more previously unannounced exclusives being sold at the show: a LEGO The Hobbit Micro Bag End and a LEGO Star Wars Mini Jek-14 Stealth Starfighter!

I heard rumblings that the last of the new LEGO summer/fall 2013 LEGO sets had been sighted at isolated Toys R Us stores, so I roused my migraine-ridden self out of bed and drove half an hour to not the closest Toys R Us to my location, but to the Toys R Us store near me that I have the most luck finding new and exciting items at. And my pain and patience were rewarded, as my gaze was soon met with what I’ve been waiting to see for half a year: shelves freshly stocked with all of the newest LEGO sets for the final wave of 2013, including the LEGO Legends of Chima summer sets and Gorilla Tribe minifiigures!

Just when I think the news coming out from LEGO can’t get any bigger, something even crazier happens! First LEGO revealed the enormous LEGO Tower of Orthanc. Then LEGO stunned Star Wars fans with the LEGO Star Wars Ewok Village, and followed it up with the reveal of the incredible Sydney Opera House. Now the first photos have leaked out of a set that, while not as large as the other recently announced sets, may be the biggest bombshell of all: it’s the LEGO Back to the Future Delorean car set, coming in July 2013!

Back in April, when the very first LEGO Minifigures Series 10 LEGO Mr. Gold minifigure hit the aftermarket and immediately sold for over a thousand dollars, I was astonished. A limited edition of 5000 is a huge number, well beyond the edition size that most toy companies produce for convention and store exclusives, limited products, and high-end items.

I was absolutely certain that the early super high prices of the LEGO Mister Gold minifigure were just an aberration and prices would quickly crash back down to Earth. But that really does not seem to be happening…
