Despite the fact that the LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham video game was one of the biggest games of 2014, LEGO really didn’t produce very many new LEGO Batman sets to coincide with the release of the game. But 2015 is sweeping in to the rescue, and one of the exclusive Winter 2015 polybags will further expand the LEGO Batman 3 universe in toy form!

Well, now–! I’m not surprised to see another 2015 LEGO Exclusive set uncovered (what with the crazy number of leaks in the last month), but I am definitely surprised by the content of this set.
Hot on the heels of the popular LEGO Superboy minifigure cube that was released as a Target exclusive this winter, we’ll be getting another LEGO Minifigures Set of four minifigures in cube packaging in 2015–this time with… a LEGO Lightning Lad minifigure!?

I’m still on vacation in sunny Orlando (in fact, I’m planning on hitting up the Downtown Disney LEGO Store later tonight), but some news has leaked out that I just had to stop and take a few minutes to talk about. We won’t see the “winter” 2015 LEGO Marvel sets (based on Avengers Age of Ultron) hit stores for several months yet, but the list of LEGO Marvel Summer 2015 Sets has now been revealed: including the first-ever LEGO Carnage and Ant-Man minifigures!

Moving on from my discussions of the sets likely to be the most popular in the LEGO Avengers Age of Ultron theme, today I’ll be chatting about the set that I think will almost unquestionably be the least popular one of the half-dozen LEGO Marvel Age of Ultron sets coming out in April 2015. LEGO has done a superb job of keeping the LEGO Marvel 2015 sets under wraps, with basically zero images of any of the sets leaking out until now (no, the teaser they put in their LEGO Designer video for the LEGO Helicarrier absolutely does not count).
But the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie is now under half a year away, and it appears that the time for secrecy is at an end! Via their own German catalog, LEGO has now revealed a half-dozen 2015 LEGO Avengers Age of Ultron sets!

I mentioned last week that making several trips to Target is part of my daily routine since a new Target store opened up a 90 second drive from my apartment. Today was one of those days that a short drive to reach the store paid off, as I was careless on my first trip in and only took a cursory walk past the aisle. The joke was on me, as Target had an unexpected promo that I had to go back for (after it was sold out)–the Target Exclusive LEGO Minifigures set, containing a LEGO Superboy minifigure and three other figures! The amount of Rocket Raccoon toys and collectibles available at retail this year is surreal to me. As a lifelong Rocket Raccoon fanboy, I never thought the day would come that any piece of Rocket Raccoon merch would show up in a retail store–much less dozens of Rocket Raccoon figures. But thanks to the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, Rocket Raccoon is now a star for eternity. And as such, he gets an honor previously reserved only for headliner Marvel characters like Thor and Iron Man–his own LEGO minifigure polybag! The second most frequently-asked question I’ve gotten from LEGO fans this fall (after “When will the LEGO Frozen set be available?”) is “Will the LEGO Rocket Raccoon minifigure exclusive be available in the United States?” My answer has always been a reassuring “Hang tight; he’ll be here soon.”
