Sometimes in my decrepit old age (I’ll be the Grim Reaper-watch age of 32 this year) I forget to talk about things. That’s really my only excuse for why, up until now, I completely forgot to discuss what just may be the most anticipated and talked-about set that LEGO debuted at the New York Toy Fair 2014! We’d previously seen the original submitted design, but at the 2014 Toy Fair LEGO officially unveiled the redesigned LEGO Ghostbusters Minifigures and Ecto-1, as well as revealing the set price and release date!

LEGO Minifigures Series 12 Figures Photo Revealed! WIZARD!

Usually the weekends are pretty slow as far as news goes, but on this lovely Saturday the peace has been broken by an earth-shattering photo revealing some of the minifigures from what will be for many the most anticipated release of the entire year! While we’ve had two 2014 LEGO Minifigures Series released already, both of those have been themed (LEGO Movie and LEGO Simpsons). But in October 2014, plain old LEGO Minifigures Series 12 71007 will finally arrive–and now we’ve got photos of the first six figures that make up that series, including a Wizard, a Battle Goddess, and even a Video Gamer!

I was a little bit unfair toward the LEGO Mixels series when I initially saw the sets, so I wanted to make sure to rectify the situation when LEGO Mixels Series 2 hit stores this month. Earlier this week I reviewed the terrific LEGO Mixels Series 2 Flurr 41511 set, and today I’m going to touch on the figure that looked the second most-appealing to me in the series.

LEGO deserves some mad props and applause for pulling off a pretty spectacular feat: they have managed to get a LEGO Star Wars set produced and onto store shelves without ever showing the set publicly or having details/photos of the set leak out to the general public. The set itself may not be anything especially new or enticing, but it’ll earn its place in history thanks to LEGO’s surprising ability to keep it a secret–it’s the LEGO Star Wars MTT 75058 Summer 2014 set!

In an ironic twist, LEGO finally managed to thaw out my icy disposition toward the LEGO Mixels theme by releasing a ridiculously-cute ice-type Mixels figure. When LEGO first publicly showed off LEGO Mixels Series 2 during the winter, it was in the midst of the period where I was still pretty cold (no pun intended) toward the LEGO Mixels sets as a whole.

Then I saw a certain LEGO Mixel figure and my heart changed completely–and now that Mixel has come home! It’s my first favorite in the line–LEGO Mixels Flurr 41511 of the Blue Frosticons!

I have not exactly been the staunchest supporter of the new-for-2014 LEGO Mixels theme, as the aesthetic and feel of the sets is just way, way outside of the box so far as my LEGO sensibilities go. That said, I’d be blind not to see how much passion and enthusiasm many collectors have for LEGO Mixels, so I’ve been on the lookout for LEGO Mixels Series 2 in the United States. I saw some online sellers in the United States selling the Series 2 Mixels LEGO sets earlier this week, so I figured it was time to check stores again. And sure enough, all of LEGO Mixels Series 2 has now been released in United States stores!

LEGO Minecraft is moving away from being a micro-world LEGO theme and moving into a full-on regular minifig-scaled LEGO theme in late 2014/early 2015! But before that switch happens, LEGO has one more LEGO Minecraft Micro-World set left coming up for fans of the LEGO micro-scale.

We’ve seen teases of the set before, but with it hitting LEGO Stores in under two weeks, LEGO has now officially and fully unveiled hi-res images of the LEGO Minecraft The End 21107 set!

Alright, LEGO got me. I really and truly believed that the LEGO Arctic Ice Breaker 60062 set that I discussed a couple weeks back was the last of the Summer 2014 LEGO City Arctic sets. It seems I underestimated LEGO, though, as in actuality there is a seventh full-blown LEGO LEGO Arctic set on the way this summer, and it’s the second store exclusive for the theme. If you like bright orange planes, then you’re in luck–it’s the LEGO Arctic Supply Plane 60064!

Christmas really has come early this year (and LEGO is reaching for Santa’s credit card)! Not only did we get our first look at the LEGO Santa’s Workshop Winter Village set earlier this week, not only was the masterpiece LEGO Star Wars Sandcrawler released earlier this month, and not only was the amazing LEGO Fairground Mixer just put up for sale yesterday–now another wave of new sets has hit stores earlier!

And despite the crazy amount I’ve already spent on LEGO this month, there was no way I was going home without a certain SPACESHIP!!!

ORIGINAL 4/26/2014: Confession time: I hate roller coasters with a fiery passion. My stomach can’t handle rides with drops, and I hate rides that get me soaked almost as much. At most amusement parks, there’s a grand total of one ride that I really and truly love–and it’s coming in LEGO form this summer! Sometimes it’s called the Scrambler, sometimes it’s called the Twist, and my wife calls it “the spin and barf”, but in June 2014, it’ll be coming as the “Mixer” in the spectacular LEGO Fairground Mixer 10244 set that has just been unveiled!

It seems like only yesterday that the LEGO Ninjago theme made its triumphant return to stores, but it was actually almost a full six months ago that the Ninjago Rebooted LEGO sets hit stores. And being a half-year since the last sets were released can only mean one thing–it’s time for brand new LEGO Ninjago sets to hit stores!
